Love my c70, use it daily for shooting everything from interviews to social reels and content. It has been a beast of a camera and the color and depth out of it are amazing. Love seeing your take on it!

This is such an underrated camera, especially amongst KZreadrs who mostly use Sony. The dynamic range is insane and even beats the Red Komodo.

KZreadrs focus on KZread content and how to do videos. They don't really do anything with their footage. They don't seem to do any commercial work outside of KZread.

I think we just can't afford Canon. I think my whole setup cost less than that 28-70 f2. I am also not as young as strong as these fellows! I think Canon's main focus is top professionals that can pay top dollar for the best. Sony's focus is more on people that want to get the best results but are willing to sacrifice time to get it over budget.

Rocking the C70 on a glide cam is incredible. The strength you need to pull that off is beyond me especially for a full day wedding shoot!

Great video on demonstrating the strengths of the C70. As a filmmaker, the C70 is one of the cameras I've been looking at when I want to upgrade to a higher end camera.

Nice to see the 28-70 f/2 getting some love for video. It lives on my Komodo unless I need something just a bit wider or anamorphic. Great video. I have considered selling my 1DX M3 for the C70 a few times. I may do that soon…

C70 is also my favourite camera for the last 18 months, and I don't see anything else replacing it, except Mark II :) Anyway, you could go with 0.71 + 24-70, have a lighter setup and get exactly the same dof and bokeh as 28-70/f2, but with a wider lens.

Dof and bokeh would not be the same, just the expose. Dof would still be same as 2.8 on the full frame camera.

The video quality is just superb! I'm more impressed by how you've hid your lav mic so well and yet get such amazing audio quality. Was it placed underneath the shirt?

$2,500 Schoeps mic for a wedding shoot. That must be nice, family hook up! That's a better mic than some feature films use.

It’s nice to see you are still using a glidecam. all you see nowadays is KZreadrs talking about motorized gimbals and I personally haven’t seen a new glidecam video in a few years.

I have a small glidecam, it gives a different look to gimbals, a floaty feel. Bit I do prefer using a gimbal as you can add a monopod and get insane shots a lot quicker. Sort of how Brandon Li does it. Can't get thes on a glidecam.

@@waynosfotos totally agree. I think both have their strengths. I like using my glidecam for action shots. When I shoot workout videos I prefer it to hand held.

Thanks for the review. I make video works with the C70. I also use R5 C. The 28-70 F2 lens has very good bokeh and I want it. but heavy.

I would love a Sony with this DGO sensor tech, I’m getting envious but I love the Sony ecosystem.

Love this review-thank you! I do have a question for recommendation... As a videographer with an upgrade to a cinema camera coming relatively soon (for shooting weddings, college football, campus activities, events, etc.), do you think it would be worth it to get the C70 over the R5 C (which I was looking at)? Granted there are some price, size, and resolution, benefits in favor for the R5 C, I'm now considering saving a little bit more for the C70... unless there might be a better upgrade coming soon to optimize the C70. Thanks!

Parker: would you invest in a professional more expensive super 35 Canon Cinema ZOOM lens or in a more “affordable” full frame cinema Zoom lens ? (Chiopt, Sirui, DZO etc) Using both C70 and R5c .

Imagine Canon makes a full frame version of this camera that would support RF lenses and nut just EF. C70 MKII.

I think that's where they failed on this camera the most. That and the slower autofocus compared to the R5. It would have been nice if it had the R5 resolution as well. Seems like they handicap things on purpose.

its probably going to be a c300/500 coming next from canon. As mentioned, canon handicap for a reason.

If they did that then there'd be no reason for a C300 MkIII or C500 MkII which cost $5k and $10k more. Gotta make sure you don't butcher your own products, especially the ones you've relied on for years at a higher price range.

When are you going to put the Z9 to the test? I know it does not compare to the C70 fully, but think it would be great for viewers to see how it compares to Sony and Canon with video work!

Is there that much difference in background blur with the rf 24-70 and the rf 28-75 ? 95mm filters would be a pain

I think the R3 is better, full frame, all RF, no adapter and EF. Also 240fps and the image is decent. More versatile camera and you can shoot insane stills too. AF is much better. I have this camera and so glad i bought it. The only negative is it does have a strong magenta look. Just meed to dial this out. Otherwise it is a insane camera. Even the 1080p is awesome and must be oversampled as it looks amazing.

How is the 28-70 for Video? Can you make a video about the lens when used for video as it predominantly a photo lens….

I also noticed you using a Mckinnon ND filter on the 16-35 as opposed to the built in ND filter in the c70 at 3:06

I would love to know what model of quick release you are using for the easy rig mini-max cable. I am using the original clamp from the mini-max on my C70 rig, but the quick release with the male part permanently mounted on the handle looks like a way better system.

If only I had a camera and I could learn to do that stuff

I think you changed your focal lengths when shooting the wedding b rolls and stuff, do you really balance the glidecam every single time you change the focal lengths, or the weight difference isn't much with such a huge setup and you don't need to?

Love the C70, but the lack of EVF is a continual problem for me. Even a little one like on the C100 OG would help.

Could help but notice the first slap transition when the opposite way. 😊
