    How do you manage all of your cords for things like shotguns and mics? I guess one issue for me is that I already had audio equipment using XLR cords, so once I add mini XLR to XLR adaptors into the mix, it's a mess. This is my biggest issue when I use small cameras-- the cords are everywhere

  • @gb4639
    @gb4639 Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the video Griffin. I just assembled my expert tangerine rig on the C70 and found a design flaw. First, if your using the HDMI clamp, you can't turn the side screw above the quick release clamp used to tighten the dovetail plate. So, you must first remove the HDMI clamp but even then the side screw to tighten the dovetail will not fully turn 360 degrees because it hits the quick release clamp. You can still make it work but its really an inconvenience. I noticed in your video that you were able to completely turn your side screw but you didn't have the HDMI clamp on. My clamp might be an isolated case or did you have to shave down the side screw handle in order to turn it 360 degrees?

    Hey Griffin, my work is looking at getting a few C70s for us to shoot with (we do mostly doco style stuff) and currently we're all running with C200 for video and 1Dx MK3s for stills. I'd love to know if you're still using the 1Dx Mk3 and what file types you shoot as well as how you process them. The camera seems to have been shunned by the photo/video community so I'm struggling to find help on how to get good video results with it.

  • @GriffinConway

    I still love my 1dx3. it's a beast and it excels in tough environments (rain/snow/sand etc). I never have to worry about that camera where other cameras I have to get a cover for them. What makes it challenging are the codecs (raw looks great but massive files / h.265 is hard to edit), the lack of proper exposure tools (false color, waveform), 30 min record limit, and no flip screen. I greatly prefer to use the c70 for professional video, and it really excels in a documentary type shoot.

  • @GriffinConway

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey Jason, thanks a lot! I like the Kondor Blue one better than most of the other cages. A few reasons I chose the bright tangerine cage over the kondor blue 1) it fully supports the weight of the camera with the side plate connecting the top and bottom. 2) it natively supports manfrotto/ronin s2 baseplate (instead of the arca type that won’t work with my tripods) 3) front to back counterbalancing for bigger / smaller lenses 4) The bright tangerine cage can work with larger Arri dovetail setups like my c500 cage can 5) I prefer the color / design of the bright tangerine cage
