    Thankssss I needed to compare the blinking to someone elses because you can never be sure if it is ACTUALLY working properly. I was timing it with my phone and thought "someone must have made a video". Awesome.

    The yellow light on my EOS 1200D charger does not blink and stays on all the time ? My batteries dont seem to be charging although after a day on 'charge;' the light did change to green ? Any clues ?

    I am using my camera after several months. When i kept my battery on charge for one night I didn’t realise that it was blinking fast. But i tried using canon’s official website support(the exactly same page which you used) now it was blinking once per second and currently twice per second. It’s been like about an hour or something now it’s still blinking. Will it charge or there’s a problem which my charger/battery? But personally I don’t think the charger/battery stops working if you don’t use your camera for several months. 🤔

    Wow, thanks! I had an order ready to go for a new charger and 2 batteries. I had the charger plugged into an A/V cart power strip. As soon as I plugged it into the wall, the blinking did not occur.

    I travelled abroad and realized that I forgot my 7D battery charger (although I have about 4 batteries that have about half of a charge), so I spent the morning looking all over Casablanca (Morocco) for a camera shop. When I found one with that type of charger, I felt great. Then I got back to my hotel and found out that the one I bought--a legit Canon product, not some knock off--has the "Rapid Blinking Issue"!!! This is crazy because I've never had any issues before with any of my chargers!!! Luckily, I brought my M3 also, and its charger works fine...Thanks for the video. Very well done.

    That's good that you got it working. Plugging it into a power strip or wall shouldn't make a difference theoretically. If it does, something maybe loose in the charger, assumingly the power strip is horizontal and your wall is vertical

    Hi. My cannon 60D charger is on constant one second Red blink, I suppose that's the normal speed, but when does it change the speed and eventually become stable? and how long do we charge it for? I've had it connected since 12 noon and now it's 4:30pm and still the same one second on and one second off speed The last time, I had it on charge for 4 to 5 hours, with the same speed, but in the camera, it showed full.

    I found that there are no issues with the battery. Look at the picture to the right of the blinking light. One blink means that its charging. Double blink means it’s at 50%. Triple brink means that it’s at 75% and green means fully charged. The instructions from Canon do not give good direction. I hope this helps.

    Had the rapid blinking issue on mine and according to Canon, it is normal operation. It is what happens when you allow the battery to drop below the voltage the charger is set to recognize. The docs say to plug it in, let it go until the rapid blinking starts then unplug the battery from the charger and then plug in again after a few seconds then wait till it starts rapid blinking again "if it does". Repeat this up to 3 times and if it still does not stop with the rapid blinking replace battery and or charger.

  • @BinhDong

    @BinhDong

    AsylumET the voltage issue is interesting. There must have been a manufacturing issue because I have a ton of chargers and it only did this rapid blinking on this one new charger for every battery.

  • @AsylumET

    @AsylumET

    6 жыл бұрын

    Interesting. I went and looked it up on their site and it confirms what they told me. You may very well have a bad charger but as noted, there are other causes. I am curious about the batteries you tried. Were they actual Canon batteries or after market and also were they dead on arrival and this was the first charge attempt with each? If so that could be why all batteries gave the same result. If you still have the charger try what I suggested and see if that makes a difference. The last time I did it was after I found one of my batteries in storage which was below zero. Trying to charge it gave the rapid blinking orange LED. It took a few tries but I finally got it to start accepting a charge and all was well again after that.

  • @BinhDong

    @BinhDong

    AsylumET you might be overthinking this. If I have a bunch of other chargers that don’t exhibit this issue with my batteries obviously it was the charger. lol

  • @AsylumET

    @AsylumET

    6 жыл бұрын

    As do I... Not really overthinking though. Simply stating what is found right in their documentation. Given that you did have differing results with other chargers I suspect you are right about your charger being bad. Just the same, the rapid blinking is most commonly not a bad charger.

    They wouldn't have this problem if they would just make all their products in Japan. Not China, not Malaysia, not Taiwan, put keep it in Japan. I don't even really trust stuff made in the USA anymore because it's about profits not quality. Make the stuff as cheap as possible and definitely don't make it to last very long, that's seems to be the new way of doing things, reputation doesn't matter anymore. It's like Craftsman tools. They were once made in the USA and were quality tools with a lifetime warranty. Not anymore, they are made in China and no lifetime warranty, and the quality is not there anymore. Just cheap made Chinese junk! All for cheap labor. It's all a bunch of crap!

  • @BinhDong

    @BinhDong

    This is 100%. Totally agree with you. Love the Craftman part too. Most of my original tools are Craftsman, I have stopped buying Craftsman tools since they moved to china. But even then USA doesn't always mean great quality. Just got to know what to buy I suppose.
