Did you guys lose some trekking poles on the first portage?

Hi Mike, I spoke to the others and none seemed to have lost any, though I did lose my selfie stick😫. We were first group through after the park was closed because of the grizzly moose kill at Virginia Falls. So had the river almost to ourselves. Thanks for asking. Patrick

At 16:49, you say, "Figure 8 rapids are not so intimidating now". My Dad and I paddled the Nahanni in 1980, and dumped at the Figure 8, or I think it might also have been called Hell's Gate. We didn't take the turn sharply enough and crashed into the rock wall. Why is it "not so intimidating now"??

Hi Jim, the river has changed, the roller coaster wave train and whirlpools have been washed out apparently, when we ran it it was straight down the middle and quite benign.
