Cannondale SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod Disc Ultegra Di2 Review | Editor's Choice 2019 | Cycling Weekly

Спорт

When Cannondale released this, the latest evolutionary step of the venerable SuperSix platform, we were a little taken aback owing to the drastic reimagining of the iconic original. Lamenting the disappearance of the classic round tubed frame we threw a leg over this new, angular beast and instantly we knew this was something special and most deserved of a place in Editor’s Choice.

One thing i have to praise this SuperSix Evo is how they treat size small varient. Generally, due to limitation of 700c wheelsize, size S and XS usually have to compromise on the front end geometry. Which result in higher trail value (small bike handle more sluggish than larger size). Just giving two examples for reference: Specialized Tarmac size 52 and up have trail value around 58mm but their size 49 have trail value=63mm. So, smallest size that have uncompromised handling is 52. This is already better than average. Giant TCR XS (~49) has trail value=70mm, size S (~52) has trail value=60mm then all larger size (M and up) have trail value=58mm. Now, SuperSix Evo 2020, All size from 48 and up (44 excluded) has trail value=58mm. They manage this with dedicated high offset fork for small sizes. So, for size around 48, this SS Evo simply handle the best of the bunch.

What make Specialized Tarmac and Allez Sprint sells better than Supersix and CAAD in the recent years was the killer paint job. Limited run of many gorgeous color scheme frame set that is only available while supply last, before they release the new colors again. Now, look at the entire Supersix, CAAD and Systemsix (build or frameset) how many color schemes do you like?

Since this channel or any other western based channel wont cover the explosion of innovative companies from China then we are left to assume this bike and its price tag are somehow worth it. You would be completely wrong assuming that, and there are about 5 Chinese brands that will sell you a bike that's similar for under 1,500 bucks. Until the cycling community comes to grips with a T1100 frame is a T1100 frame no matter who makes it then its comical when someone says they purchased a 5 to 10k bike that only cost 1.500 dollars.

Copy every company's shape and call it the 'new' thing.. Cannondale is 3 years too late into this so call 'new shape' lol... should of stick to their routes and went with a new supersix with lighter material and kept the old shape that everyone loved. The weightweenies could of use the older traditional style with even newer carbon layout for even lighter frameset. This 'new supersix' should of been called something else as a bridge between the synapse/supersix to the all out aero systemsix. So far talking to all the old cannondale lovers all dislike this move and the new supersix. So glad i bought a tarmac sworks instead of waiting for the new supersix. I was about to regret my decision as I bought the sworks first at a good discount then was thinking 'what if my favorite supersix going be new and awesome' but no worries cannondale didnt make that happen and i was happy to get a sworks in a discount haha
