I'm glad Paul has his groove back. Not that he ever really lost it it's just you can see older videos where he was sitting at weird angles cuz of his back issues. Posture is important for drummers

True, I saw some death metal drummer that has a back rest on his throne and straps to it at the lower chest. I cant remember who it was...someone help me out here....

I never fully appreciated Paul's drumming until I seen cannibal live. He sounds so much better live then on any recording.

I agree.i saw them about 8 years ago and he really hits hard.he was sitting lower behind the kit you couldn't see him but his snare was really loud.

Had the chance to meet him and he was awesome, he gave everyone a chance to talk, it was my first cannibal corpse concert and it was one to rememeber! Also got to meet Luc Lemay! Great night!

I've been fortunate enough to meet Paul a few times. Hes by far one of the most kindests and genuine dudes I've ever met. Hes had a huge impact on me as a person and a musician. Til next time I get to see ya again dude!

Unfortionately it isn't really intentional but the result of a bad hand technique. I love cannibal corpse anyway and the fact that they didn't hire a more professional drummer for a better live "performance" makes them even more likeable.

@@revivedfears Yup! Its part the reason i always considered them a live band, pauls drumming upbringing was no metroknome, just power and aggression on the kit. He'd push it to the limit at little club shows in the 90's. You just dont get the feeling on an album. I just saw these guys august 11 and his drumming style really made the experience

It's sad to see them getting old. Even 10, 15 years ago, Paul was one of the hardest hitting death metal drummers out there. Now, he barely taps the drums :(... Still a beast of a drummer, though. Legend never dies.

@utewbing first thing you notice is how soft hes hitting and loose grip

watching these means that he actually made somethign for the technich, in old live versions he looked unconfortable playing the fast parts, now he looks more relaxed, love his drumming

Whole band fucking amazing is still dominant (even now 4 years after this video) but Alex and Paul really are just absolute fucking LEGENDS. Alex may be the best Bassist in all Brutal Death Metal and Paul has got to be one of the very best drummers. As I said, George, Rob, and (just recently) Eric are all legends as well but Alex and Paul really are the 2 remaining Cannibal OG's and are just absolute wizards at their respective instruments...

I've seen them live twice and am just now appreciating what each member brings to the table, I want to see them one more time and truly appreciate each of them

Not technical and tight as other modern drummers, but super tasty and groovy (and I really prefer this) . So great to see him blasting like this even if he's getting older.

I've been playing drums for 20+ years now and technical/tightness is cool and all, but I'm always more interested in what they're actually playing and the rhythms/patterns used. The creative aspect, and how fun the ideas are (and CC have a LOT of fun ideas) That's what music is all about for me. I never pay attention to how tight or technical a drummer is. Besides, Paul is playing perfectly fine here in regard to technicality and tightness, even more so now that he's getting up there in age.

I'm more a gutarist than a drummer. I don't know shit of how to do the drums. I don't know the difference between good and bad drumming. But in this video i enjoyed every second of it, and that' s the way it should be. Don't need to be a badass drummer so you can enjoy it. Ant that's what's music is about, enjoyment. Yes. I mean, my ear isn't plugged directly into the soundboard, but they've always sounded very clean when I've seen them. All instruments are distinct, it doesn't lean too bassy or too trebly. You can hear George just fine (though if you don't know the lyrics you won't make out what hes saying due to his gorwling, lol).
