I one 100% agree with this trainer. I have watched his show. I have done the training methods he teaches. The work, the teach the dog who is his leader, and most of all gives the dog their perspective place and job in their human pack. It's loving, engaging with proper enforcements.

@@iheartjbgccb he uses a whole lot more positive punishment than is needed, which can be very harmful. Current science in animal training is finding that positive reinforcement is the most useful. Positive punishment on the other hand is long term a less favourable option

Ellen show is one of my favourite show 🙂
sirius black...... always it reminds me of that scene where the dog growled from the hedges at harry when the bus is about to arrive....... this dog is so well trained... didn't disturb once... eyes glued to the man😊
The series is just amazing! Im owning a cat yet hes teaching me so much not just abt dog but life in general haha. Highly recommend!

@@m.z.593 If being "up to date" were so important to the results a person can get, you'd think someone (someone!) would have a tv series showing *vastly* different results. Where is everyone? At best there are series showing similar results. Nothing to support the hoi polloi rhetoric about "research." Honest, the all-positive crowd sounds like Aesop's fable about "the dog in the manger." Just running other people down to feel good about themselves. Never having to actually deliver. Just ego satisfying rhetoric.

Well, she did state "she wasn't going to do that" "I don't want a box in my livingroom" She was interested in her guest that he is good at what he does, she is just not wanting to do that kind of work to help her issues with her dog.

@@miahcapito8051 as a professional dog trainer, who sometimes work with the dogs who went through his program and many more that went through similar ones, I see the harm. Believe me, there are more effective ways to train, with less fallout, out there and available to you. They're just generally not as flashy so they don't show up on TV.

I went to his website and under operant conditioning he only had 2 of 4 quadrants on of which was wrongly defined, which for me says that he is not at all interested in the science of dogtraining.

Except for all the things he's wrong about, like dominance theory being debunked. And everything else. For the record, there's no such thing as a positive only trainer. R+ trainers also use negative punishment, i.e. the removal or withholding of a reward. We just don't believe in using pain, fear or intimidation to train. It's not necessary, nor is it humane or ethical.
I actually trained with him. Total disaster, don't recommend him at all. He has no actual dog behavior education or formal dog training experience. Within 3 weeks he had one of his underlings slap an e-collar on my dog, and the guy lit my dog up so hard that my dog screamed, went up the leash and nearly bit the guy. Upon reviewing the video of the session, Jas saw nothing wrong with it. We never went back.

He has personal commands with Slash. Sometimes in another language. Ex. he uses German expressions for K9 dogs

He said "Platz" which is german and means down. K9 dogs are usually trained in the german language. It's common.

This show needs to be put offline!! This guy has no idea what he is doing. Choke collars, pronge collars he says nothing about, he dominates, he uses nylon cords! Around the neck, scared dogs that he drags around the street. He enters homes, makes a pitbull all wild so the pitbull grabs his sweater and he puts a sliplead on this dog and says now i am in control. So you wild a dog up and then punish it. I am a dogcoach and i can't see this stuff without getting angry. He is dominating, he yanks the dogs unto his box method. It may seem like a solution but using fear and pain is not going to last long. Netflix should take this horrible show offline!

Snort! There's no such thing as a "dominant" breed, or a "dominance" scale in temperament. Professional dog trainers threw out that ridiculously misunderstood framework like 30 years ago. Anyone who is still clinging to that is missing out on a lot of more effective ways to train and modify behavior. Also, that beautiful dog needs a larger "box" (or maybe better still, a platform) to hang out in.
