Excellent points. I received a cane masters cane for my birthday and military retirement. Ok, I suggested that to my family. Back issues indicated that I will need this daily in the near future. The motivation to keep active in things I love. I have avoided using it publicly because..do not know if I am old enough yet 😅 truly like the crazy options for everyone. For me, stretching moving on my terms. Self protection. Mostly the motivation to do what I can in ways that I understand and adapt them to my life . Cardiovascular, stretching, therapy. Great stuff on this site and service for all ages.

Another possible use is holding the horn in one hand and shaft in the other using the palm rest as to punch

What techniques? this guy doesn't even know how to "whip chain". Power comes from your connection to the ground in any martial art, this is just some out of shape bastard who clearly knows nothing of martial arts playing with a cane. You must have been fooled in to thinking he knows what he's doing by his collection of martial arts junk. My guess is that he's a glorified baby sitter. If you want to learn how to fight with a cane, take a few Muay Thai kickboxing classes... then pick up a cane. You will be lightyears beyond this guy in a couple of weeks. Personally, I can do more damage with my shin elbow or head than this phony can do with that cane.

That is quite an honor to get that cane! Well sir, you are going to be the first person I mention my concerns to about these canes. I will be ordering from Canemasters without a doubt but I am leaning towards getting a "plain jane" cane because when I was in high school, I enrolled in a security guard training class that was taught by a police officer and he told us that a baseball bat is not a weapon per se but if they find a baseball bat that is all taped up, then it is obviously a weapon and they will treat it as such. Granted, a baseball bat doesn't have the protected status of a medical device but you see my point, right? I mean police officers are definitely not stupid or ignorant of canes and when they look at my cane, they will surely see the point and the knob in the horn as well as any grips/teeth and can then determine that I am using it as a weapon, right? I mean that is my concern and so if I order a "normal" cane with no features and a plain fully rounded horn, I have no such concerns, right? So what do you think, sir?

Hello I do understand what you mean Sir. I look at it like any other tool. Its great to have the right tool for the job. But you can defend yourself just fine with a basic cane. When buying a self defense tool I look at it like this what's the reason of buying it where will I be most The Times where I think I might need it. And if I use it in today's world what's the legal ramifications when using that tool. Would this be a tool I would be justified in using. I am 55 and if I am attacked by one or two younger men would I use it on them. I say yes if I know my life is on the line. But it all comes down to you and were you live what are the laws in your state. I Kind of me this long winded sorry about that basically if you see my videos you can still defend yourself very well with any basis cane. Also let me know what kind of cane you get. Thank you Gary

While typing out the original comment, it occurred to me that I was making a decision based on a "what if" situation; i.e. what if the police examine my cane and want to make a point out of it. Then I realized that I can buy TWO canes! 1 is plane jane and the other is dreaded out with the features I want. That way if the police take one of them, I still have the other one they can't take and if the police never examine my cane nor make an issue out of it, I have the best cane that I really want. :D

Hello Thomas Grandmaster Mark Shuey who makes them tells me he goes all over and on planes and far off places. And he has not had any problems yet. I not saying that it may not be aloud in some places but so far I have not heard of anyone having any problems so far. I had not had a chance to travel with mine yet. Thanks Gary

I too was concerned that this new cane design would not fit the criteria of a 'medical aid'. Do you know if there is any official word from the ADA regarding it's obvious extended capabilities and the possibility of confiscation by an over-zealous airport security officer Gary?

Hi Barry I am not 100% about that I would email Grandmaster Shuey of Canemasters and check with him I know he has been through the airport with his. Not sure if they would look more at the person carrying it. And wonder if they need it for medical or they wanting it for more protection. i think a lot depends on the way you look if your 70 and frail they probably wouldn't look twice if on the other hand your a 200 pound 40 years old it might ring the alarm bells ....i just ordered my first cane from Cane masters and left it off the order for this reason as where i live the cops are pretty strict about carrying any self defense weapon and you can get jail time for it so i thought it not worth the risk ...the regular cane is after all pretty effective

Hello Anthony here is a link to a few different self-defense canes and I have a ShadowHawk combat Cane on this link as well. Also Don't know of any cane self-defense school in your area. But if you don't find any give me a call at 813-782-0477 I have a RDT Cane self defense system that's on line here is some information on it. It's has 4 levels beginner, intermediate, advanced and black belt. I hava private Facebook training page on each level. The cost is $25.00 a month that gives you access to the training page that you can use anytime plus once a month we do a live video training for 45 minutes to an hour with each other so I can see and talk to you as we train together on line. We you are ready to test for the next level we do a live video testing. That's $25.00 for the test. Then when you pass I add you to the next training level. And you can then have access to the intermediate level and still work in the beginning level as well. And so each time you move up. The again is only $25.00 a month. What you get different than just my regular KZread channel is access to the training system as well as live interaction in training with me. And able to contact me for any questions through phone calls, email, Facebook IM.

I picked a decent basic one up from them for $70 unfortunately as I'm not in the USA the shipping was expensive but where i live you can't buy them
