Candy Candido's tribute at a 50-year wedding anniversary celebration on April 23, 1988

Ойын-сауық

Candy Candido, who is best known for his ability to speak in a super basso-profundo range, served as the Goodwill Ambassador of the Great Allentown Fair, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, for more than 30 years. He also became good friends with my father, Ed Charles, who was a long-time official with the Fair. He also got to know many in our family. He recorded this presentation (a friendly roast, as well as a tribute) on a VHS cassette, which we played at the anniversary celebration.

It’s surreal hearing Candy talk in his natural tenor given how most are familiar with his falsetto and deep bass.

Thank you so much piano pappy! I have never seen this before. Watching this brang tears to my eyes because even after all these years I still miss him so much.

“I could write a list if his talents on a piece of confetti” Candy’s New Orleans Italian persona is so cool

When Candy started talking about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, I wonder if he did the Bumble Snow Monster's growls. Also imagine if he voiced Thing 2 in the Cat in the Hat special from 1971 instead of Lewis Morford.
