Candlestick Challenge - In Damascus

Daniel Moss's Candlestick Challenge,
we figured theres no harm in trying and joining in, we know there was no chance of hitting the timescale, but thats not the point, it was fun.
Material is ball bearing cannister damascus with high carbon nickel powder which is much stiffer than mild steel under the hammer. But hey it looks cool
Things I learnt along the way,
I struggled for tongs to grip it as it changed,
4lb hammer is too much for this,
The guillotine tool I had didnt allow for a nice pinch,
If it had have been hardened and etched I would have been done in 43mins, still double the required timelimit, but with no practice and very little blacksmith experience I'm happy with that.
Final time was 59,58 as an official entry as it counts finishing time.

Id already made it before I found out you not meant to use flux 🤣 it was fun though, and surely no one can set a time worse than an hour? 👊

@@coffeesstudios2122 one thing I have learnt the hard way, triple check the cameras, now remembering to say the right thing or light it properly, still learning that one 🤣

Yeah it was good fun, and yeah I only own a 4lb hammer and a 3.5lb hammer 😂 tongs are ones we have found over the years and as you could see several times they were not quite right🤪 well worth joining in though for sure, glad you liked the video, thankyou 👊
