Candlepin Bowling - Joe Ouellette Jr. vs. Scott Rondelli
Спорт
Special thanks again to Scott Rondelli himself for providing this tape that aired on 8/5/1989. :) This match features Scott himself as the defending Champion, taking on newcomer Joe Ouellette Jr. after Scott defeated Joe Carchedi the week before. This was also the final stretch of the 1988-1989 season of the program, with the True Value Championship show happening only 3 weeks after this match aired.
Some great shots and a quick start by one of the bowlers as well that really set the stage for this telecast as a whole. I think I can also see some familiar faces in the background of this match, including future Champion Gary Casey.
Hope you all enjoy, R.I.P. Don Gillis.

Don Gillis was Mr. Candlepin bowling. Candlepin bowling was never the same when he left us.
5:43 Good thing that "lob" didn't cost him pins...because that was NOT a lob. It clearly bounces before the lob line!!
Nice quality here👌

4:55 I have NEVER seen a 7-8-9-10 leave. Wow. There should be prize for this alone! My Q: If you only have one pin to hit, why do you have to fireball it (at a reduced accuracy)? Seems to me that a more reasoned pace emphasizing accuracy would be the better way to go. ???????
joe won the thirid string so 50.00 for him
The crowd is a bit smaller than usual. This was taped in the middle of summer. A lot of places, including Fairway didn't have AC at this time. It makes me wonder if the lack of people in attendance was due to an extremely hot day.
