Candle Making Tutorial For Beginners | How to Make Candles At Home | Kitchen Candle Making
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This candle making tutorial will show a few similar ways of how to make candles from the comfort of your own home and kitchen. No dedicate workspace or fancy workshop? No problem. You can turn your kitchen into a temporary candle making workspace to get started making candles right away. This candle making step-by-step video will hopefully be helpful to both beginners and intermediate candle makers alike.
We will be making 4 small batches just to show you can still be efficient and organized from anywhere. The kitchen is a very popular and common place to start making candles. Hopefully this video can offer you a few tips and some encouragement as well!
By the way, if you are curious, we will be making Hazelnut Coffee, Mum Farm, Leather Shop, and Cracklin' Birch. Enjoy!

Working for a fragrance company for many years as a Perfumer, I pour my fragrance using a pipette. The advantage to this method is that you draw some fragrance up into the pipette, and as you get close to the desired amount, stop pouring and finish off with the pipette.

First time viewer. Great video. Question. Roughly how much it cost u to make a candle and what would u sell them for? Total from start to finish product.
@BlackTieBarn
3 жыл бұрын
@@mikejanson1939 Hey Mike. It really depends on so many factors. I have so many kinds of candles (different jars, waxes, oils, etc). But, the candles you are seeing in this video cost me anywhere between $2 and $2.50/ea currently. That is after buying my materials and bulk and growing to a level I can produce more. When first starting out, your COGS will be much higher obviously until your costs start coming down. These sell from anywhere between $8-$12 depending on the retailer. I sell them for $9 or $10 usually online. But retailers can sell them for various prices depending on their location.

No problem. And yeah I totally understand. I started then as well... so much easier these days. Lol
Best tip from your video that you mentioned is that there's a variety of methods that might work for you, but not every other viewer who picks up candle making. I've had horror stories of frosting when I first started making candles and I picked pure soywax. It took forever to figure out how to avoid frosting. It took trying tons of different things on each differ candle jar, each type of fragrance and even each kind of design. Just because something works for someone online doesn't mean it will work for you so trials and testing is absolutely necessary! It's a requirement for professionalism sake!

Wade thank you so much. I've watched TONS of videos but yours is by far the most informative with step by step instructions. My first batch of candles was from a candle kit. They looked so nice until I burned them. Great CT but no HT whatsoever. Once the candles cooled, they created some white crusty stuff all around and actually looked gross. So i purchased better products that I know exactly what I'm getting (🙏 thank you for teaching me that) and I cannot wait to try my first "real" batch. I got the GW 444. I purchased before watching all your videos and didn't see you cover that specific one so wish me luck🤞🏾
@BlackTieBarn
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Taina! I appreciate that. 444 is tough. Can be tricky to wick and it is all spy so you will still most likely end up with some of that white frosting crystallized look.
found your channel due to research for my own launch in 2021. I love how you show the entire process from both angles. I was looking through your description for your equipment, but maybe I might have overlooked it. Do you mind if I ask, what is the camera on the small stand that is facing down on your work called? I'd like to have a secondary camera stationed for a "Two-Angle" view as well. This type of setup kept me so engaged throughout the entire video!
@BlackTieBarn
2 жыл бұрын
Its called a Mevo system. Its... okay. You have to buy multiple pack to get the different angles. And then you use computer or phone or tablet wiht an app to manage them all. Its a little clunky but easier than syncing up several DSLRs. Although the quality isn't as good. Here is a link: amzn.to/3zYyhq4 I also bought a few stands, etc. But the link above is for the 3 pack of cameras. You can do 1 pack as well but then syncing it to your other camera is no different than using multiple standard cameras. Its just easier to use one system. But it has a little learning curve and some time to set it the way you like it. Hope this helps.

@@BlackTieBarn ohhhhh! This is very helpful! Thank you for the quick response. I was thinking about doing the multiple DSLR thing, but this seems more convenient.
@BlackTieBarn
2 жыл бұрын
@@KrisOkoya You definitely can do multiple DSLR. Pros and Cons. It will cost more but have somewhat better quality maybe. Although the Mevo still does 1080p. The biggest issue with the DSLR option is editing and syncing audio. I dont know exactly how you plan to use them (now and for future) but if your editing skills are fine, neither option is a problem
@KrisOkoya

@@BlackTieBarn I currently use my one dslr for streaming. So I’m planning to do the dual set up for streaming my candle production process as well. I originally was just using one camera to give the one angle of me working. But to have to angles with a camera phasing be while camera b is focused on the table and candle work, seems a lot more elegant and allows me to be in the shot when talking to the chat etc. so it’ll be for streaming. I just specifically need it for the views nothing with the audio. My audio will come from a standalone mic.
