I left off a thermometer but we test the melter so it’s up to you if you want students to have one.

I have a candle creating party booked for February, & I’m super excited about passing my knowledge along, meeting new candle lovers & customers, & having fun while doing so. This video is perfect because it’s my 1st party.
I love the idea of logo aprons!
Always dropping the fire 🔥info!!! Thank you.
Great information...thank you for being you.

Thank you so much! This was so helpful. I'm about to do my first candle making class, and this video was a life saver!
Awesome video, thank you!
Great video thank you
As always excellent tips, thanks for sharing! :)
Thank you so much! I have a class coming up in March and I feel so much more prepared with the information you gave me. I super appreciate it!
Just what I needed
super helpful because I just booked my first in home candle making class for some ladies.

Good luck with the class!
Thank you! I'm doing this next year!! I'm researching and planning now because I want it to be well done! Now I'm even more excited and nervous at the same time. ❤ The interest is there I just have to make it happen.
Hey! I would love to know... melting the wax, does each student do this individually or do you use one big pot? I'm about to host a workshop in the woods :D and trying to figure out logistics! Thanks!
Thank you so much for always sharing such great information! Did you have to obtain special insurance for the classes?

Hi Standley I loved your video you’ve inspired me to have my first class Christmas!!! Anyway, I can’t find the double wick centering tools on the site I only see single.
Thank you for sharing it as I made some wedding favors at a wedding just recently for my friend, and one of the bridesmaids wants me to do a candle party Another video I saw because I don’t have my own shop while people are waiting. She was playing golden girls bingo so that’s another idea to do is play games whether you have a shop or you’re in someone else’s home. Thank you for all the tips as I’m looking to add this for more income
Such a great video! Thank you! I’m wondering what your booking process looks like. I’m a Square user + I’m wondering if it makes sense to use Square Appointments so the recipient/guest can schedule + pay online. Also, I plan to use excess samples as FO options for the recipients.
Thanks for the great info! Do you have a waiver your customers sing for the workshops?
Thanks for this video! Do you make people sign a waiver? Do you have an example?
how many fragrance oil options do you suggest?
For labels which ones do you use for them to write their name? Also do you include your logo?
What kind of label do you use for your class that they can personalize with their scent?
Thanks so much for the info. What size/ brand of vessel do you recommend for candle classes with wick recommendations to keep it easy and simple for the class?
@StandleyHandcrafted
Жыл бұрын
For most waxes a smaller vessel is great so you don't have to deal with sinkholes unless the wax doesn't do it too bad., Plus a smaller vessel hardens up quicker.
I cannot find those pitchers for the wax on your webstaurant link.
I used those DT ptichers and like you said, they are a butt to clean. Going to check out the webstaurant store. Did you use the 12 oz, frothing pitcher?
@StandleyHandcrafted

It's the 20oz version.
Great info as usual. Would love to know how you let people choose the FO's. Sniff out of the bottle or use blotter strips?
@StandleyHandcrafted

For this class we had to tip the bottles into paper towels so they could smell them. I will be getting better bottles that you can open and smell for the next class
@ekpcreationscandleco.9062

@@StandleyHandcrafted I have tried several types of bottles and found that bottles for lotions/shampoos, with a screw on top that also flips open, has been the easiest for customers to use. Easy to open for blotter strips, smelling in the bottle and pouring out the oils to measure.
@StandleyHandcrafted

@@ekpcreationscandleco.9062 The bottles I got here ended up working really well for pouring but I did swap out the top for a liquor pouring spout which measures the amount pouring out. They work sometimes. LOL I will definitely be getting a better bottle for smelling though.
Love your videos, thank you! What size candle was that? 10 oz?

Thank you for the information! Do you use a different vessel than you carry in you candle line? Also, where did you purchase the apron with company name?

No we use the same vessel I use in my own line. I bought the apron from Webstarauntstore and I cut out the logo and ironed it on.

When starting out and want to do a candle class, how many fragrance oils do you have for participants select from?
@StandleyHandcrafted

We have twelve out today.
I know this isn't pertaining to this video but how do you include a safety label to tealights? 🤔
Do you have customers sign a legal waiver of some type?
I do classes but not at my shop. Too many people just want to steal your ideas and ask you for a step by step on how you did your business

@@sallymoore6920 You're welcome and I would agree with you there. There are many who will take the short cuts and run with it. But they will typically run into roadblocks soon after and not know how to get around them. Testing is so important for long term success. :)

Do you let them blend fragrance oils? Do you use only one wick with your jars? I always wonder how these candle making places allow customers to blend their own fragrance without testing
@StandleyHandcrafted
Жыл бұрын
We use double wicks for this vessel and they can blend if they want. We let them smell and blend if they choose. We do offer input but up to them if they like the smell or not. :)

@@StandleyHandcrafted But do you test all the combinations? Everyone always says to test EVERY single FO, but how can you do that when offering classes? I'm always concerned that the candles are safe. Do you just use the wicks that work for the particular jar?
@StandleyHandcrafted
Жыл бұрын
@@shareekascreen6346 No, for this application, the wax, the wick, the vessel and what ever oil we use it is going to work almost 100% of the time. If anything it might burn a little lighter with some oils but not enough to ruin a candle. This vessel and wax combo works perfect with the LCS 45's and the LCS 50's, for the classes we error on the side of safer and use the smaller wick for all oils.
How long do you let the candles sit before they can take them home?
@StandleyHandcrafted
Жыл бұрын
They take them home the same day, but we let them know to let them sit for 3 to 5 days and they will be stronger

@@StandleyHandcrafted pls how can I attend ur class? I’m starting my candle business too, but will really need more information abt it. Thanks.
Suppliles for classes are expensive. I know if you do regular classes you can make your money back over time. Have you heard of situations where the people requesting the class paid for the supplies and the teacher just gets paid for teaching the class?
