    Ive always enjoyed your videos, Chris. So you know, I have not had a notification from your channel in, I dont know how long, a long time. I have just searched you out to see what has been going on. I dont understand youtube and I dont know if its the algorithm or what. I actually feel bad and feel like watching KZread a lot less. KZread is shooting itself in the foot. Thanks for the past videos and have a good life, brother. God bless ❤🕊

This may not seem much but you taught a 40+ yr old Mum in Australia how to solve and made her laugh many times over with your frustrations. Liked the video, even though it makes me extremely sad that you‘re quitting. I started cubing because of you and your channel about 5 years ago. My nieces and nephews know I’ll have at least one or two cubes in my handbag and they’ll race each other to be the first to pull it out and fiddle around with. Gifted each of them their first 3x3 for Easter this year and they were sooo excited. Been teaching them beginner’s method ever since. New generation of cubers in the making 😄Chris, be well, wishing you only the best all the way from Germany.

    It has been a pleasure watching your videos. Sometimes i binge watched them and sometimed i didnt watched a video for half a year or longer but in the end you motivated me to start cubing, even if it was for only two years. Now i can impress and teach other people and children how to solve the rubiks cube. So at this point i will say thank you for the journey and have a nice life/live (iam from germany and sometimes my english sucks so...)

    Very well made video. I remember first finding your channel way back when I first got into cubing and binging a bunch of your videos. I know that your roux series wasn't very popular but I really enjoyed that as I has gotten into roux I think a couple months before you made that series. Honestly I think this also signifies cubing really is changing a lot, we're getting a bunch of new faces in the speedsolving scene and the old content creators like RedKB, Derpy, DG, Adam, Legoboyz3, MMAP, CrazyBadCuber etc are more irrelevant than ever and many people don't even know who they are anymore. Anyways, I hope you do well in all your future endeavors!

    I'm sad but I totally understand. It's also not you, it's KZread trashing their recommender engine and other boneheaded changes. I *really* appreciate your sweet call-out of my puzzle. Your 2x2x2x2 videos generated a lot of interest for which I'll be eternally grateful. My most memorable moment was your devastating pop which you somehow turned into a clever triumph. I hope you'll drop a video once in a while, but only when it's because you have something you want to show. Thanks for everything, and best wishes for whatever excites you next.

    It was also from 2020 with covid that i gradually stopped buying cubes too and started doing jigsaw puzzles again after more than 10 years. I still enjoy puzzles but these few months haveing drama fever and doing marathons from day till night. Maybe tomorrow i wake up and start wanting to cube badly again, who knows. Hobbies can be out grown with time especially when it is no longer trending. Just do what makes you happy, take care and stay safe. Don't forget to smile =)

    Wow. I remember when I first found your channel, mere HOURS after you uploaded your first video after your 2.5 year youtube gap, in late 2015. This was when I was first learning how to solve a 3x3. I was at my grandparents’ house at the time. I remember you switching to vlogs and I remember being uninterested in them. I remember being excited when you came back to cubing. I remember the first Can Chris Solve videos, and later the channel name change from haribo41296 to CanChrisSolve. Your top 10 favorite puzzles and top 5 least favorite puzzles and your hardest puzzle to solve videos are crazy nostalgic for me and I’ve watched them so many times, especially back in 2015. (Sidenote: Back in 2015 I commented on “what’s my hardest puzzle” that my hardest puzzle was the only one I owned, the 3x3, and that comment ended up becoming one of the top comments on that video. 5.5 years later, I have 90-100 puzzles and have been to about 30 comps.) I’ve always felt some special connection to your channel since you were the first cubing channel I ever discovered, before I could even solve a cube, followed by JRCuber, RedKB, CrazyBadCuber, and MMAP. I will also say that this is the only time I’ve ever seen a KZreadr make a dedicated goodbye video, as opposed to just stopping uploading, which I really appreciate for the explanation and for allowing me to write this comment. So, thank you for all your videos over the years and sad to see you go. You will be missed.

    Some time ago KZread just stopped recommending your videos. I don't know why. And I just wondered what has happened to you. Honestly I am not surprised. Cubing is dead and it's so sad to me because it's a huge part of my live. Covid killed it. No competitions meant no new wca puzzles and unfortiunately no new non wca puzzles as well. Bigger KZreadrs stopped uploading, because there was nothing to make a video about. And the algorithm prefered longer videos now that everyone had more time to spend at KZread. RedKB, JRCuber, Nathan Wilson, the list goes on. And now that I just wanted to see what became of you and watched this video I had to cry. Not because of your videos themselves, but because it reminded me of the corpse of a once wholesome community that I was happy to be a part of. A community killed by COVID. Rest in Peace my dear community. You will forever be missed by me.

  • @CanChrisSolve

    @CanChrisSolve

    I feel exactly the same way. The community was such a beautiful bunch of people, all working towards the same goal of connecting, sharing, learning, and solving. Even now, post-COVID (ish... I know it's still around), things just don't feel the way they used to. Some top cubers and friends of mine have dropped off and pursued new things, others still cube but rarely upload or go to comps when they are on. I think the pandemic just kind of forced us to grow up and examine the world outside of cubing. I'll always ALWAYS treasure the amazing memories we've made, and how far cubing did (and still does) come from its extremely humble beginnings in the late 2000s, early 2010s. Thanks so much for coming back to check in and for sharing your comment! Hope all is well for you in your life and the future 😸
