Pecky’s French canal session continues, and with one carp caught, he has high hopes more will follow.
As tiredness kicks in, a rather jaded Pecky is awoken from his siesta by a small common. This carp was a sign that there were still fish in the area, so a third rod went out to a spot where he’d seen some movement.
Hand-sharpened hooks and a sprinkle of tigers was all it took to have a relentless night’s action. No huge fish were caught, but it was all that was needed for Pecky to remain at the spot, as he’d been told there were some good-sized fish in the short stretch.
The last day was another chaotic one, and after re-doing the rods due to some nuisance fish, Pecky caught a 30lber, could the bigger fish have moved in?! Well, it seemed that way, as not long after the same rod was away again. This time the fish felt much bigger, on gracing the net Pecky immediately knew his luck was in!
A 45lb wild mirror was a fitting way to round off a short session over the channel.
