Beautiful trip with their amazing Canadian Pacific 2816. I’m glad I was able to see this steam locomotive back three months ago in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Great shots of 2816!

That is a great looking locomotive, and I am glad to see CPKC has embraced, even for a short time, mainline steam for this event.

It is so sad for me as a Calgary Alberta resident for over 65 years watched helplessly as CP Rail tracks have been dismantled from south of Calgary to Fort Macleod, and many other places in Alberta, and now there was consideration of tying Lethbridge, Fort Macleod back again to Calgary to avoid so much car traffic on the highways!

17:19 I love seeing images of steam locomotives when they are being fired so efficiently that all you see is pure steam coming from the stack.

My wife and I chased 2816 from just outside Chicago to Clinton, Iowa in an almost steady rain, an amazing day indeed! You do excellent work, well done as always!!

I recorded this locomotive here in Monterrey and it will be one of the best I have recorded this year

I’ve been waiting for this video forever

I crossed the tracks by my house walking to the store, and I saw a buncha people setting up chairs, etc. trackside and didn't think much of it. As i returned I got to the train station by my house just in time to see this train go by in its entirety. Very cool.

Awesome video showing the beauty of the locomotive, knowing you cannot miss that event! this fellow steam locomotive is the Santa Fe 3751 of Canada, both locomotives being rare to see everytime. Keep up the good work.

I actually remember when they made a proposal for the merger of CPKC back in 2022 and then by 2023, that railway merger actually happened, that merger was one of the last great railway to be merged

13:10 I doubt UP would even shut down their mainline for a public display event for the 4014 or the 844! Just goes to show how serious and committed CPKC was for this run. CP 2816 is taking it's world tour in America on 2024

I believe the 5 Chime not being cord operated also comes from a Canadian regulation not recognizing pull cords as a valid safety device, which is the reason why Royal Hudson 2860 had an Air Whistle fitted that resulted in it's 6 Chime being almost never used, and why they post watch crews along the line of the South Simcoe Railway... Heard that one from an old head at the Toronto Railway Museum, so he may have misremembered, but who knows
