Alright, let's do this one last time.
After spending the day in Galesburg, we made our way to our hotel that night to get some rest before the next day where we would reunite with Canadian Pacific 2816 once again to chase her and the Final Spike Steam Tour along the CPKC's Marquette Sub which, for the most part, parallels the Mississippi River. The Empress of course did not disappoint with her run yesterday and on Canada Day too no less as she traveled through scenic Iowa countryside.
In this video you'll see the Empress travel along the Marquette Sub at places such as Davenport, Clinton, Bellevue, Lansing, and even La Crescent, MN as she makes her way home to Calgary after a long two month trip. In addition to the Empress, some freight trains make a few appearances here and there and even an appearance by a Tugboat pushing some barges along the Mississippi appears as a bonus. I would just like to say a big thank you to the CPKC Steam Crew and the railroad itself for giving me the chance to see this once in a lifetime excursion and I can't wait to see what other plans the railroad has for this gorgeous Hudson!
