As a former correctional officer here in the States, this makes me sick to my stomach. She wasn't being aggressive or threatening. She didn't assault any of these cops. If that canister had hit her in the head, it could have killed her. "I was just following orders" doesn't cut it. "I would have lost my job" doesn't cut it. You broke your oath to your constitution and to the people. Why would any of these cops do the bidding of people who despise them? Denigrate and defund them? Cheer when one goes down in the line? They should have stood down en masse. It will take years for these officers to regain the trust of the type of people who normally support them. They chose the wrong side of history.

This tyrannical corruption is common in the US as well. I went to a college and complained to a teacher about having to do the vast majority of work in weekly group projects because my group members didn't care. This left me having to write 20 pages of research a week, and when I argued back against the teacher's dismissive response, she called the police and invented a story that I somehow "threatened" her with the cops running along with it. They reported me to the Student Conduct Office for "speaking disrespectfully" to the teacher (and yes, this was a publicly funded university, so they're bounded to adhere to the first amendment), and they had no problem with wrongfully defining me as some sort of monster because the professor didn't like that I requested to have an issue resolved. Certainly, issues like mine and ones that others experienced made my opinion of the police institution turn on a dime. I once made excuses for officers no matter how egregious their behavior was, but that quickly changed once I experienced corruption that refused to be corrected. All they do now is knowingly violate people's rights and ruin their lives, but cover it up later on by crafting narratives filled with lies to make their behavior seem justified at face value and turn the victim into the villain. This is what happens when unpatriotic, America-hating nutjobs start running these institutions. They hate the constitution. They see it as nothing more than a hurdle to try and workaround rather than a rule that needs to be followed. They work to try and weasel their way around constitutional rights by demonizing their victims and fear mongering people into believing our rights needed to be violated for "safety" purposes. And if people try to fight back and exercise their rights by suing the institution, then the institution has the license to retaliate by smearing the plaintiff in front of the entire world in publicly accessible court documents. Then anyone that does a background check can easily access the false accusations that multiple officers and state employees made about you and deny you job opportunities under the premise that you're a psychotic lunatic that randomly threatens others with violence....and all of this is "deserved" in their eyes because a civilian _dared_ to exercise their first amendment to complain about issues in a classroom.

This is the Exact Problem with Paramilitarizing your police force instead of using community policing where the officers assigned to a certain area is Encouraged to become an active part of the community. To reach out and get involved with public events, to meet and greet people, use judgement to give people a break instead of just Black and White enforcement of law no matter what. Crowd control police are trained similar to the army the are drilled as those in front of you are the enemy. They use the same tactics the Roman army used. When they see people begging for them to stop they get a sense of power. This is all drilled in to them. Iived behind a old factory where police from all of the country would train it was a sight to witness watching them split up it formations they would have other police or volunteers throw bricks and petrol bo- these are very well trained when something lite this happens it's no accident.

Canadian truckers should refuse to drive any load at all from now on. American truckers should refuse to carry any load across the border in support.

The vast majority of Police have been very professional and tolerant. Unfortunately, there is always a few bad apples that have violated the orders from their command, to operate within the law in a respectful manner. @burteriksson I should also add that, a man or woman dressing up as the opposite gender is more an issue of a fashion-stereotyped society than a gender identity issue. A man should be able to wear a red dress with high-heels and full makeup ("dress as a woman" as some would say) without being judged whatever his sexual orientation (homo, hetero, bi) is. But in the end, he's still a man.If that individual decides to change his whole hormonal profile to grow breast and go through surgery to change his own reproductive organs to those of a female, he would then be a woman. Still binary. Now there are the special cases of hermaphrodites and androgynes. Both cases are extremely rare in natural occurences although they do happens from time to time. Maybe, eventually, it will be possible for an individual to decide to completely remove his own gender-related hormonal profile and reproductive organs to become an androgyne which could make one being considered as non-binary. So yeah, my previous comments was probably too generalised but, imho, the point is that the whole modern agenda on the subject is still extremely flawed and delusive to a point.

This needs to be shared and Canadians need to keep standing up for their rights!
