Canadian Commemorative Quarters: A Complete History!

Since 1967, Canada has produced Commemorative Quarters, but in recent years they have been producing them fast and furious, with as many as 12 new designs every year!
This video attempts to showcase all the commemorative quarters produced into circulation to date, plus their coloured variants and errors. Not only is it a walk down memory lane, but I try to bring in some history and context to each commemorative issue. I try to add some humour to it all as well.
If you are interested in a particular year or issue, I will add timestamps below for each clip.
Click the timestamp below to jump to each section or watch the whole video.

I travel from Detroit to Windsor every now and then and I always collect coins left over from my travels. I have at least two of these commemorative quarters, and a few rare loonies and toonies.

That's awesome! Certainly hoped it could service as a reference resource. I hope anyone looking through their change can find it helpful and also Canadian and US coin roll hunters who are finding Commemorative Canadian coins in their rolls.

Nice video! My first Canadian find roll hunting in the 70's was a '73 mounted bicentenial. I miss it as it was stolen, by a family member. Thanks for reminding me. I'll need to purchase another to replace it, Now, I'm thinking of a large bust LOL!

You missed the 2006 pink ribbon and bravery coins, although you did show them at the very end in summary. Also, the 1999 caribou and 2000 caribou were NIFC coins, so you will never find them in circulation unless somebody broke up a mint set.

I have some of these. For the 1812 I have a colored Brock and Frosted Secord. I actually like the frosted look more, as in the U.S., it is usually only seen on proof coins, so it just impressed me more.

I think the Cindy Klassen coin is the only Canadian coin where a woman has had her first and last name on it. Not even Elizabeth Mountbatten-Windsor has had that honor.

We Americans still won. Our flag was still there. Oh say can you see, by the dawns early light, oh so proudly we hailed, at the twighlights last gleaming, whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight. Over the ramparts we we watched at the twilights last gleaming. And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave truth through the night, that our flag was still there, Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave, over the land of the free and the home of the brave.
