I honestly found out about this bridge using the map on Snapchat. It's so mind blowing to me that a tunnel connects two countries. I never realized that Michigan was so close to Canada!

England and France are connected by an underwater train tunnel through the English Channel also.

Yep, at this spot it's only across the river. The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel is the only international road tunnel in North America, and one of only two in all of the Americas (the other is in the Andes between Chile and Argentina). Europe has more of them

Speaking from personal experience after living in Windsor for a number of years, the contrast between Detroit and Windsor is quite stark. Windsor isn't thriving, but it doesn't have much blight. There are no "scary" parts of town. But what you see of Detroit in the view is just the downtown core, which is a great place to be. The blight begins beyond the downtown core in the neighbourhoods of Detroit.

Karim Sanchez Are you actually comparing the states to Canada or Detroit to Windsor? Even if you are comparing Detroit to Windsor it is like comparing Apples to Oranges they are not the same and it would be an unfair comparison.

im surprised its only a two-lane? has there been traffic jams and close the tunnel? like auto accidents or auto breaking down.

Nice! Dont you need passport to go over? Also, what if an accident happened in the tunnel? All i see is one way road so if the road is blocked off, there is no other way? The border crossing where i am from is insane with traffic!

nothing like the Tijuana - San Diego Border (San Ysidro port), that shit is insane, one of the busiest borders in the world (4th if not mistaken), and the largest between the US and its neighboring countries

This border crossing should be forever closed to protect Canada from domestic terrorists and criminals from inner city Detroit USA and the drug trade. Instead open more border areas with strong controls above Lake St Clair far from Detroit for safer passages.
