CANADA TO UK VLOG: I quit my job and moved to the U.K... alone

My first ever vlog of me packing up my life and moving across the ocean to live in the U.K, completely alone.
I've always known I wanted to live abroad. It's been a dream of mine to relocate and start a whole new life and have brand new experiences. To learn and experience different cultures first hand, to meet new people with different habits and ways of life.
As much as I love Montreal (my hometown) I was miserable. The urge to leave and start this journey of solo travel grew stronger every day, until finally I found the courage to leave everything behind and take a risk.
It hasn't been easy by any means. It gets lonely. To know that I'm the only one in charge of looking after myself now. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. The reward of spending time with yourself, discovering who you really are without the influence of your hometown, family, friends, and just your old life in general that has shaped you into the person you are today, is freeing.
This is just the beginning!

Lol ….I always have an inkling to leave Britain and go to Canada. I guess the grass is never green wherever you are, but it always appears to be somewhere else!

Aw that's so sweet of you!! ❤️ I'm very spiritual, I try everyday to be in tune and aligned with my soul.. I spent a lot of time not aligned and it led to a lot of misery so, as hard as moving across the ocean was (and still is sometimes) it's comforting knowing I'm doing what feels right. Thanks so much for that lovely comment ☺️

@@norikoo to be honest I was looking for any country abroad I can move to that would be easiest for me, with the least amount of culture shock (since I am moving alone and didn't want to completely overwhelm myself) UK just turned out to be the best option and easiest visa to obtain :) also I've just always wanted to visit UK it's beautiful and so much to do here

You guys are strong I swear I’m thinking about it now with my 14 year old daughter we want to move to the UK but, and I’ve made up my mind as I’m tired of the cold in Calgary and kids not having a proper fun meaning they can’t really play outside much due to the weather they’re always inside and it’s sad to have to watch them just grow in the house so we don’t want to leave but it’s hard I’m scared because it’s not just me on my own there are kids involved in this I need strength to do this I’m kind of excited but also scared: the kids are like let’s do this mommy let’s do this ☺️☺️☺️ I enjoyed watching this video I hope to see more on how she was able to settle over there.

The problem with America and Canada is simply they are far too big. Too much space. Little sense of presence, of belonging.

I personally disagree! I'm speaking solely for Canada since that's where I'm from, but I think the space is refreshing.. to be able to drive for an hour and be in the mountains surrounded by lakes and trees is a really nice break from the cramped city life. UK/London definitely has its merits in terms of opportunity and things to do per square footage, but I've definitely noticed my mental health was a lot more calm and serene in Canada. To each their own though! I think everyone prefers different environments and that's ok 😊
