I don't find the critiques a lot different from the og drag race. The thing is that RuPaul knows how to make herself look good for the camera through her choice of words. Jeffrey and Brooklyn act like the mad rupaul of season 7's acting challenge all the time.

Nicu but the Canada judges don’t give the queens anything to work with, they just tell them every detail they hate about the look, and then expect better of them next week. This is even more obvious when Michele comes on as guest judge. She tells Rita she doesn’t like her look, elaborates on WHY she doesn’t and even further goes on to tell her how to improve upon it. That’s being constructive. On the other hand, the Canadian judges would have just said something like “it doesn’t fit your form and I don’t like the way it looks on you, so do better”, that’s being snarky and rude.

TBH, I don't think that's entirely the judges faults. They said those things for sure, but this is what the producers and editors decided to use. Deliberations and critiques go on for longer than 5 minutes, after all. I would put more blame on the people behind the scenes and what they're wanting to 'portray' to the masses. That being said, the judges are still pretty bland in general, haha.

@@Mischievousharlequin one explanation might be the judges gave the good and bad critiques too separated in their speech so they had to take just one line and not jump cut two together. Or the good critiques all boiled down to "ye it was good" so instinctively you will edit the more juicy part in. But then again i find the critiques on rupaul's as harsh but spoken with pretty words and more puns. These judges are straight up reading

michel spero I don’t get how a runner up is the one judging others in a drag competition. I mean let’s be real, just because Brooke is a drag queen doesn’t mean it makes sense for her to be there. RuPaul is the most successful drag queen in the world, and created and started dragrace world wide. It makes sense why ru is there as a drag queen. Stacey also makes more sense as a model, judging drag competition since they are walking runways and are showing off their fashion. A runner up and a B list actor who both suck at giving feedback truly don’t make any sense on the judging panel. They should have a more established person and someone who’s in charge on the judging panel like Michelle visage, or RuPaul himself. Brooke should just quit being a judge, join all stars and see from there, because judging a drag competition really isn’t her thing and it shows. The B list actor should go back to his figurant roles in movies and TV shows. He’s obnoxious, doesn’t know how use drag terminology and gives the most empty and lamest feedback.

But she also doesn't give them any specific positive or negative feedback, only general feedback like the other judges do, which makes the queens feel unsure of why the excelled or failed in each challenge and how they can improve, which is the whole point of someone accepting to being part the show. No one wants to get humiliated on TV, that's not what being judged in a famous competition is about. She's not as mean as them but she's not a good judge either so like... 🤷‍♀️

Lolgrove I think it might’ve been because there weren’t any UK queens in the franchise before RPDRUK, whereas Brook was on the American version and was already established. Also idk if anyone outside of the UK knows but Michelle was on our version of Dancing with the Stars, strictly come dancing, so she was already in the area and doing some promo through the show. You can see Ru in the audience one week watching her. But yeah at the least Ru should guest judge.

YES! I thought the same as Rita. I loved Jimbo’s look! But to me, the white makeup did make her look older, or “Revolution style” more than pageant. Plus Jimbo asked for their opinion, you get what you asked for and Rita was trying to be careful in her words but English isn’t her first language so sometimes we don’t choose our words correctly or struggle translating our thoughts. Jimbo just went off on her afterwards... really this video looked more like a Jimbo stan vid + pushing down Rita. And Jimbo is one of my favorite queens from Canada’s Drag Race. Also ppl complaining Rita was being petty at the read, isn’t it the point?? It’s like that every season.

@@FaliusAren Because we're less cringey I'd say. We've got our drag scene as well, it's not as big as it is in the USA or Canada of course, but definitely they don't act in this manner.

But I just love how Rita Baga remains classy as always, especially while Jimbo was ranting against her. Girl it's not her fault the judges misjudged!

Rita was meant to go all the way to the end so that's why she got so much praise, Jimbo just knew she's on the lost position right from the beginning

I live for Jimbo!!! So funny, has incredible talent and taste. I do agree, the pink number fell a little flat but ONLY because her petticoat hoop skirt was a bit short underneath, so it didn’t create a full silhouette. If the hoop skirt went to the floor, she would have been flawless.

The judges said her taste level is questionable and they go on the runway lookin ghetto asf they shouldn’t judge people while wear clothes like that 💀💀💀

They really need to change the judges or idk, even if you can't watch the show just like me (I'm in France it's sad ye), with some videos you can see that they are rude for no reason. Jeffrey thinks he can fully understand drag bc he's a fan of drag, it feels like he was trying to be a rude Michelle Visage. Brooke is trying to be the RuPaul of the show but it's not working, when you can't see potential in drag queens and that you are just being rude and annoying it's not judging, it's bullying 👀
