Pike between 27.6" and 35.4" can't be kept in Ontario.

Technically, the pike in question was legal. Thanks for sending me down a rabbit hole Chris. I am typically a by the book type of guy and was upset that I somehow let us break the law on our trip but I also thought that I had checked the limits before we embarked. According to the Ontario fishing regulations summary, there are only three FMZs (fishing management zone) that have the slot restriction that you state. Zones 2,4, and 9; however zone 10 may have also had the restriction but does not this year. Since that pike was harvested in zone 8, it was in fact legal. There are 20 FMZs in Ontario so be sure you know which one you are fishing in before harvesting any fish. Also check to see if you want to spring for the sport license which has less restrictions but not that much more cost. Fish on!

I’ve done several fly-ins with Air-Ivanhoe, but have often thought about the boat in. Looks like guys found the Walleye. Also looks like you all had a great time. 😊

We are going to do one more boat in and then going to do a fly in. The boat in is nice if you have your own boat. My BIL brought his and when it was your turn to fish with him, it was your most productive fishing.

Agreed why would you eat a huge pike not cool?
Why would you eat a 35" pike? lol.
