    18:56 funny blooper commented on by Mansbridge (the LIB 36.7% - CON 29.6% - NDP 15.7% - GRN 4.3% for 2004 was the vote share across *all* 308 ridings in 2004, not the 80 or so that had reported by that point in the evening) obviously, he's not responsible for what was presented on that screen, the producers should have compared like-for-like. And since the previous redistribution ("boundary changes") was drawn in 2003, it's not as if there were notional changes to calculate, either

    6:35 “This is a big surprise though”. Lol, 3 to 2 to 1. You can’t declare a “big surprise” with 1 poll out of 216 reporting. Spoiler alert, Carol Hughes ultimately lost in 2006, but won in 2008 and continues to sit in the House Of Commons to this day (2023). The upcoming redistribution has eliminated Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing though; what happens to Hughes remains to be seen.

  • @wilnerolivier7971

    @wilnerolivier7971

    Prime Minister elect is the wrong term when describing the party leader who wins a federal election because the Westminster system that's the form of governance in commonwealth nations like Canada doesn't directly elect the leader & instead elects members of parliament that makes up the House of Commons. Whichever leader has the most or plurality of seats in the House of Commons becomes the PM.
