Canada 0-2 United States | HIGHLIGHTS | 2023 Concacaf Nations League Finals
Ойын-сауық
⚽🤩 Relive the highlights of the Concacaf Nations League Final between 🇨🇦 Canada and 🇺🇸 United States! 🏆📹
The 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League is now complete following the 2-0 victory for the United States over Canada in the Final of the 2023 CNL Finals on Sunday night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
There were many top performances throughout the CNL in League A, League B and League C, including the following players who earned individual distinctions.
Christian Pulisic of the U.S. has earned the Best Player Award as the tournament's top performer. Pulisic scored two goals to spearhead the 3-0 U.S. victory in the semifinals against long-time rivals Mexico last Thursday, before playing a vital role in the U.S. attack in Sunday's Final victory.
The Best Goalkeeper Award has been awarded to Matt Turner of the United States. Turner registered a clean sheet in each of the U.S. wins in Las Vegas, including a solid three-save performance in the Final.
Gerwin Lake of Sint Maarten has collected the Top Scorer Award presented by Qatar Airways after scoring eight goals in six matches in League C, helping Sint Maarten clinch a berth in the Concacaf Gold Cup Prelims for the first time and promotion to League B.
The Fair Play Award goes to Panama as the team that best conducted themselves on the field of play.

In another year I'll agree with for me it's mexico for now but I know over time it will be between the USA Canada and Jamaica and not very likely but likely Suriname for the very same reason Jamaica diaspora power. Jamaica on the might of it's English diaspora not it's own development as far as now is will be a power house in concacaf with it's more than 100 English born talent pool to tap into and in the Nederland Spain and Germany growing. Canada growing as well qiute rapidly and would beat america outside america. USA diaspora and growth combination. Those three teams are the future of concacaf USA Canada and Jamaica of which the greatest threat to the USA over the coming years will be Jamaica based on its fpitch for teenage premier leaguers from it's English diaspora they are a sleeping giant waiting to awaken. The USA already a giant and growing huge football diaspora growing league becoming more accepted in global football more players in Europe than ever before. Canada growing football talent pool and development infrastructure and club system outside of the MLS English colonial pedigree like Jamaica makes them accepted in the football world as princes without having to earn stripes like the USA. Mexico not growing, nor are the rest of concacaf at a good enough rate to trouble the USA. Single greatest threat to the USA in concacaf on talent and growth combination Jamaica in first place with it's powerful English diaspora second Canada with it's growth in development infrastructure and club system player pool and diaspora.

it really doesnt matter international football outside of big tournaments some teams dont even play the best player for rest reasons or club reasons especially non qualfying games which is what any game vs usa would be. You just need your big players to keep getting first team spots in the club games to keep improving in time for world cups and other international tournys. Teams like Man city and bayern munich are much stronger than England or France as it is all star players with top tier coaches.

This will not get much attention, but that free kick in the 43rd minute was so clever and very nearly went in. That little kick from Pulisic to set up Weah went right around the wall that Canada had so carefully lined up. That was clearly a planned set piece and likely one that they had practiced, judging by how well it was executed, and what I want to know is who put that play together. If it was BJ Callaghan, he needs to get a lot of credit for having something ready to go for such a specific situation after such a short training period. If it was a player or part of the coaching staff, Gregg needs to take note of it and give them more input and power going forward because I don't remember seeing this team look so prepared for set pieces in a very long time.

@@nicolegoodspeed1567 It depends on the team you are playing. Canada have blazing speed and they like to counterattack and get behind the other team's back line. But they don't have a lot of skill or experience breaking down a stout defense while still trying to keep their own defensive shape when the other team presents a dangerous counterattack themselves. The US faced a similar but different problem against the Netherlands in the World Cup to what Canada faced in this game. The US similarly had over 58% possession versus the Dutch. The US could control the midfield but in order to break down the Netherlands with possession they needed to push their centerbacks up and throw their fullbacks forward. Then you had Zimmerman and Ream trying to track back for any counterattack, definitely not their strengths. And you had a tired Tyler Adams and stretched Dest/Robinson trying to cover. So it's nice to see Callaghan was more flexible with his tactics than Berhalter was. The US should be able to beat Canada by trying to stamp their authority on the field, but why play into Canada's strengths if there's an easier way? Berhalter's public reaction to the defeat by the Dutch is one of the things that concerns me about him being the head coach.
