Can you upgrade to the FTM500?

Ғылым және технология

I tried to skip the FTM-500. I failed at that. So here is how I upgraded from the Yaesu FTM-300 to the FTM-500.
P.S. I think I know what went wrong with my use of the FT3D but I look forward to seeing if one of the comments on this video hits the bullseye on the issue.

Thanks, I’ve just got an FTM-500 and I’m viewing all the content I can find 😊

So far so good. I'm going to switch my setup a little bit because the Command Strip is not strong enough to hold the head for hours.

Thanks! She is nice, no question about it. The only real question is am I going to keep her? Especially now that I figured out what I did wrong with the HT setup.

Red on Right Tongues up. Think of the crimp part as a tongue and it should curve up with the red on right while looking at it from the plug in end

For power polls, red reading right. The A are right way up with red on the right. That’s how I remember.

This works unless you have cheap Chinese ones that have no letters on them

I use the red on right when looking at the "A" and I use a premade set as a refrence. . . . I also use a block of wood for soldering.

@@N2YTA Some places you order them from, mainly Amazon, you might think you're ordering genuine Anderson Power Poles. However they send you cheap knock off ones with no writing on them. That's why you shouldn't rely on the letters. Just remember Red on right, Tongues up.

Does the ft3d have enough juice to kick off the amp?

Winner winner chicken dinner! When the radio is fully charged it kicks over the amp no problem. When the battery drops under ⅔ charge not enough RF wigglies to make the amp go.

Why didn't you just copy paste in RT Systems from the one programmer spreadsheet to the other, like I did? 😂

  • @LifeAtTerminalVelocity

Because RTSystems costs money and I'm a cheapskate. I don't want to buy it for a radio that I no longer have (the FTM-300) just to extract the data, then buy it again for the new radio to import it. Especially since Yaesu makes available software to do it in a round-about-way.
