Good video. You just reminded me of why I can never start a mailbox store business: I had two roommates in college who worked for UPS (and that little 3 hour shift they had made them lose 15 pounds of weight after 2 weeks; they were already college athletes). Back breaking stuff (but it gave health insurance benefits). I worked at office max and had to unload the truck every week by myself. You're a tough dude for almost doing it yourself everyday.

Not gonna lie, this is a rough job when packages pile up. And I am looking forward to the day when I can hire more people and spend a little less time in the office. Looking past the back issues, it is really rewarding work though. I appreciate you checking out the vlog 🤝

Good video. I'm thinking about opening my own mailbox store, and the behind-the-scenes look showed me some things I hadn't thought about. It didn't change my mind, but it did make me think. Keep it up.

I can’t believe this video showed up. I always watched to run such a business because we really need it in our neighborhoods. I sleep weird hours but I am sure my children or grandchildren would love to help with this. And run their own business. This is great. Thank you for sharing.

I was wondering how to you get paid for all the deliveries being brought to you? Do we UPS/fedex etc, pay you a percentage for deliveries to your store? Thanks

From what I heard UPS/Fedex will pay you for returns but not the deliveries. Our customers pay us a monthly subscription for that part.

Not financial advice, but I started with about $30K. But I was the only employee and I lives in the back of the store for the first 18 months or so.

Yo! This video was shot in our old store and it’s a little under 400 sq ft. It was plenty of space for about 6 years but we recently upgraded in July to about 1000 sq ft. If you’re just starting out, 400 ft would be plenty. That way you can save on startup costs and upgrade when you have more customers. I appreciate you checking out the vlog 🤝

I bought a store and I’m wanting to do this. USPS says they don’t currently deliver mail to any business on Main Street. I brought in an application to become a commercial mail receiving agency and they have never heard of it. Do you have any insight on this?

Is it a really small town? That’s the first time I’ve heard that, you may have to contact usps directly if you can. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

Great video bro. What’s your thoughts on buying apartment mail boxes and getting them set up even though I don’t have a store? I was thinking of getting them set up like Amazon lock boxes . I’d like to hear your take

I appreciate the love brother! Using your apartment may be tough because you’d have to become an authorized mail receiving agent and to do that the delivery address would have to be registered as a commercial unit. Things may be different where you live so I’d check into that first.

Thanks for checking out the vlog! I appreciate the love. I decided against the mailboxes at first because they were expensive and they packages didn’t fit in there. I’m glad I did that because I don’t need them now. All customers are on a monthly subscription so monthly recurring revenue is a big part of the income. Also use virtual mailbox and pack and ship via USPS. Most customers came via Google (SEO) and word of mouth. Let us know if we can ever help on your journey. Love your videos. Hi. I love your business and I am trying to find a location but I don’t know where to start. I live in Alexandria Virginia, right outside Washington DC. I would like to open store in zip code 22314 or 22209, but leasing place are crazy, $40 to $60 per SF! Would you please tell me how many square feet store do I need? Hey, thanks for checking out the vlog and for showing love! We are currently paying around $25/SF now but prices vary by region. We got started in 400 SF and lasted there for about 6 years until we outgrew it. Maybe try starting smaller and a little further away from the center of the city. Work with a local commercial real estate agent if you can. They usually know the best deals and can negotiate on your behalf. Now’s a great time to get into the business. You got this!

Can this be a million dollar a year business? It’s possible. But what’s more achievable (and likely) is a business that can allow you to pay your bills, live a comfortable life, and be happy. Either way, it will take some time. Took me about 4 years before I started seeing a profit. Let me know if you ever want to speak more about it and I can lend a hand
