Can You Make Hip-Hop on the Tracker Mini?

This is the first of a series of videos that I'll be doing this year, making beats from scratch using different samplers while exploring different genres. In this video I use the Polyend Tracker Mini to make some Bossa Nova jazz influenced hip-hop.
I tried to strike a balance between entertaining and educating. I talk through what I do and what I'm thinking but I also sped up a lot of the process to not make the video boring. Let me know how I did? I'm hoping to do more of these and to figure out what works best for you guys? The next one will be MPC most probably...

Love the final Track!
Got mine two days ago and love it. I love the portability and take it with me everyday. It very powerful and sounds great. The only thing I don’t like is this thing with fingerprints 😂

Nice! I love mine too. I just see my fingerprints as giving the little guy some “character” 😉 I’ve put it to work! Haha
I’ve got the mini and it’s definitely a finger print magnet. I wish they would have use a different material. It,s a cool unit though.

I’ve never even noticed that but you’re not the first person to bring it up. I dunno, as long as it doesn’t get sticky, which it doesn’t (I’ve had mine for about 8 months with some heavy usage and travel) so I’m happy about that. I just love this thing 🤷🏻♂️

Ugh, same it’s almost my only complaint. Looking for a good way to regularly clean it.

Cool tip try to turn aliasing off. You get sp1200 vibes when down pitching sounds really good.

Mine’s on its way and this track set me at ease that I can make top jams. Do you know what sample packs you used? They all sounded great!

Awesome! Um, I can’t remember off the top of my head. Pretty sure it was a combination of some of my own stuff, Splice and some free Slate samples…I think. Haha. Hope you’re enjoying yours? It’s such a fun workflow…
Approach was cool, level of detail was great. I'm on an MPC.. so will try to translate it over. Obviously do able.. its more about learning how you use the low/high pass, know the key something is in, why thats important etc.. thanks for the videos, hope the channel pushes on
