the fortnite thing is actually because fortnite is not optimized on mac os as well as it is on windows. i actually bootcamped my mac and installed windows. playing on the same settings gave me a solid 60-70 frames versus the 30-40 on mac os. this is with a macbook pro 2016 15 inch.

Just boot camp windows. Games just aren’t optimized on macs. On macOS I can only play Fortnite at 360p with all low settings at 40fps. On Windows boot camp, 1080p w/ medium setting at 70fps

I was so excited when I found Geforce now but when I got it I realized my internet connection was to bad to use Geforce now. After that I tried an external gpu, the gtx 1080, as well as a 144 hz monitor for my 2016 15 inch MacBook Pro but it was really annoying having to switch to windows just to game and then switching back to Mac OS to do college work. I also had a lot of driver related issues in bootcamp windows. Then I just decided to buy a complete gaming pc with a gtx1080ti and a Ryzen 1800x cpu and I am very happy with the results. All I am saying is that using a Mac to game can work but it is so much less troublesome just using a windows PC.

Can u do another browser comparison please? You haven’t done one in ages.

With the cost of the external box you could just buy a decent gaming laptop

it depends which game. FOrtnite, yes. but that's because of their code, epic has horrible code, unoptimized for the mac. Fortnite even runs like crap on i7 8700k with 1080ti. Epic needs to fix their game.

I had a 2013 MBP. MBPs are just not capable of running most games, even if they technically have a Mac version. Mac App Store games tend to be much better.

I have an advanced MacBook Pro. My buddy told me that Macbooks are not meant for gaming but you can game on them if you want to. He said it will get warm to hot over time if you play too long. Will GeForce help this in regards to helping my macbook not over heating? I haven’t started gaming on it yet but when I do im not going to play any longer than 2 hours. Just trying to prepare myself before I start gaming on it because my pro is pretty brand new (2018 edition). I plan on getting a real gaming pc in the future.

Can’t get it download on my Mac or my parallel portion? Do you have another game streaming that WILL work???

Heres my experience with GeForce Now PC: Do not bother using it unless you have an ethernet fiber connection or a 5ghz wifi connection. Luckily, as a university student I have ready access to 5ghz connections, however from time to time I still heavily get dumped from 1080p to 720p or lower on spikes. Dont use it to play competitively, as it's rare to maintain a stable 1080p connection even with a 50-100mbps connection. Otherwise it's amazing.

I'm a bit different here. I have a great connection with Ethernet but I opt to using 2.5GHz for long games like the Witcher 3. Why? If I use Ethernet GNOW eats my data like a baby eating candy. I sadly don't have unlimited internet here, it's too expensive.

+Mr. Yakubi If you don't even have unlimited Ethernet, you might as well as cut KZread off the list as well, much less any streaming service ever. All of which require unlimited Ethernet connections. Unless you prefer watching everything at 480p for a reason.

PC is strictly worse for this type of thing. It just doesn't have as many options or the best software available on windows, whereas Mac has everything on Windows and their specific Mac options like Sketch, Final Cut etc. In the creative field comparing mac with windows is like comparing mac with windows for gaming, yeah you can still do it but it's just not as good and has way less options.

Lol in the same price of macbook you can buy hp omen and in that you can game and do other things like editing and browsing

I suspect CPU being a bottleneck in this setup (especially when it throttles) and this stuttering issue is most likely caused by that.

Depending on which model, it works surprisingly well. On my T440s (i5, 8GB RAM) I get 50-60fps on Fortnite in 720p with medium to high settings

This is just a waste of money. If you want to game on your mac download boot camp. I play with my 2016 macpro 13" w/ touchbar and went from 30fps and 33 ms on MacOs in fortnite to 60+ fps and 15 ms. The best part - it's free!

No you cant. only roblox and minecraft if you do some config tweaks and some other games on steam

so i know i can't game on my 13in MacBook air 2015 but what i want to know is how can i improve performance on a streaming label, because everytime i open the application its super laggy and then when going live, the performance is horrible, i dont have an ethernet connection to my mac but my modem is right next to me so my internet connection isn't the problem and i was wondering if an eGPU will help the performance on it? Im left in a spot where should I invest in a Razer Core x for it just for the streaming?
