Not sure why you turned on me, but you used to be very supportive of the channel. I have 33 comments from you in the past 10 months, and up until I didn't reply to one of your questions about updating the DJI Go4 app, they were all quite positive. Then you turned against me. Not sure what's going on there.

51 Drones. Incase you are anyone else would like to be extra safe. These lights are great for night flying, or in overcast weather. When I say super bright I truly mean it. I have the white strobe on top red on the left side & the green on the right side. Thanks 4 the update on night flights. The video from Orange in Iceland was great. The shot over the cristal clear river with the sky reflection was gorgeous. Just got my mavic last week & I hope to be able to take some footage like this in the future.

Mavic Pro on focusing is so true! I am a cert. pilot sUAS and live in the D/FtWorth area and is all class B & D airspace so even if I fly at night unless I'm at a *AMA field* then you have to have a waiver to my knowledge? Where you are might be E or G air space and what you say is correct. Just mentioning that the air space makes a difference as a hobbyist. I use Airmap and it is good for letting me know where I can fly and how high. You no doubt have your 107 now so enjoy and be safe and I did enjoy your video. :-)

Awesome video Russ. I’ve got a great deal of really useful information from this . I did my first flight several weeks ago at dusk, and I almost ‘cacked’ my pants. I agree, the MP is a totally different beastie when it’s dark and visual line of sight is so important. Best wishes to all the family.

I've been doing a bit of research myself before my first flight - just ordered my first drone the other day! It has been pretty confusing with part 107, section 336, etc, etc, and not night flying specifically, but the "leash" you mentioned was something I thought existed if you want to go beyond being a hobbyist. Thanks for clearing this up for me! Also, I watched and subscribed to Orange 83's channel - thanks for the recommendation.

Good tips thanks. For night footage I’ve mostly seen people recommend never taking your iso above 400 and instead increasing the shutter speed. A high iso causes more noise in the picture.

I just watched the video on Iceland. Spectacular! Love you videos, very informative.

You can't change designation between 107 and hobbyist (or the other way around) DURING the flight. You must choose one or the other before you take off and stick with the protocols of the designation you chose preflight.

Hi Russ, another great video and I love the walking around. We can't fly at night here in Australia, only half and hour before and after sun up/down. I always heard couldn't fly at night but I had done my own research and found out I could and I been night flying for a year now. As u I also dont have 107 yet but studying for it. Thanks for the info to oranges page and keep up the good work bud!!!

I’ve noticed the same thing in regards to the focusing of the Mavic pro. The auto focus isn’t very good at night conditions. I’ve tried the manual focus with much better results though. I didn’t even know there was a manual focus adjustment until a few weeks ago. Thanks for the video!

This is the first time I have watched one of your post, and answered a question I have all was wondered about the LED LIGHT switch, when it will cut the lights off. Thanks now I can stop trying to cut them off while I have it on the bench, LOL

Having been in Iceland quite a few times myself, I of course went ahead and watched Orange 83's Iceland video. Unfortunately drones were not arronud at the time I was there (1988-1991), I do have a lot of stills from that time. And finally, thank you for great videos too, I enjoy learning from your experience :-)

arkay Yes, a 1 inch sensor would be ideal.

I flew once in the night but with great care and safety.I'm FAA certified and I had clearance lights on my drone. And only in a limited height of twenty meters.I prefer flying at day and in a open field .always use safety in mind and be aware of your surrounding. Fly safe everyone and have fun flying.
