An electrolytic cell with a copper (II) sulphate solution is used to destroy a penny and grow copper crystals on a dime.

Explanation: the power supply turns this into an electrolytic cell, where the metal of the penny is oxidized and dissolves in the solution, and copper ions from the solution are reduced onto the dime. An example of a RedOx reaction! Another cool RedOx reaction: kzread.info5RNBEUCwH3g?feature=share&EJGixIgBCJiu2KjB4oSJEQ

You wouldn't believe how many plumbers think electrolysis doesn't exist and is commonly debated I wish I could save this video to rub it in the other plumbers in my class that I was right and that's why they shouldn't ground the entire house to their copper water lines

Can we "execute" a penny? And which of these do plumbers argue about? Electrolysis > Splitting water into hydrogen & oxygen by means of electricity. Electroplate > To coat one metal with another by moving particles off one metal onto the other using an electrical current. Electrocute > To execute/kill someone with electrical current.
