Can you do laundry on a cruise ship?

Can you do laundry on a cruise ship? Well, yes you can, but some ships makes it easier than others. This video focuses primarily on the self-service laundromats on Princess Cruises but mentions other methods and cruise lines are mentioned as well

I use the line in the shower each evening. Not every item of clothing needs washing after use (like shorts/skirts/trousers as compared to things that make contact with your armpits), but after wear two or three, they get washed. (Smell test rules) In theory, I could pack three outfits for an unlimited time as long as there’s no drastic temperature swings.

Excellent information! I really appreciate knowing about the laundry sheets, bag for dirty clothes and WOW the tip on being fined for clothes going into the water! So thankful to know I can have my clothes washed on a cruise! Thank you Shirley!

On many ships you can, but if you are on HAL pay the about $8 a day for unlimited laundry. Great service, usually one day (sometimes less) turn around. Don't have to overpack. The cost of the machines (washer, drier), soaps, and your time doing the laundry is much higher then the cost of this service.

Thanks for commenting about that. I just sailed Holland America for the first time last week, and I plan to post a video soon about their unlimited laundry service. You are right. It was very well worth the daily charge.(now 9.95 for the cabin per day.)

I'm doing a short 7 day, next month, but I'm doing a three week, next October, so I have to practice sink washing, on the short vacation. NCL bumped the laundry fee up to $35. I plan to get some magnetic hooks to hang things.

Those hooks are great for that. I usually ask my cabin steward for extra towels. Then when I wash and wring out a shirt, I roll it up in the towel to get out most of the water. Then I use a ship's hanger to hang the shirt on the hook, (unless I bring my own plastic coated hanger) I also use two dry washcloths as "shoulder pads" to protect my clothes from the varnish on the wooden hanger.
