    LOVE the TW! Good to see others out there enjoying the mighty tiny bike. I had one as a daily driver for years. Best upgrades for commuting are to update the rear sprocket (easiest to change), upgrade the seat to a Seat Concepts cover, add wider foot pegs, and I added a 2 inch bar riser (I'm short tho so YMMV). Updating the rear sprocket made it possible for the TW to reliably carry my 200lb+ butt at 65mph on the local highways, and still kept enough torque for tractoring up dirt fire roads in the mountains when moto-camping.

    I did, between 1987 and 2008, with paid maintenance every 2K odometer miles. My route choices included RR Spur under I-5 and a vacated dirt track following a noisy creek amid woodland. Infrequently chased by feral dogs.

    Nice One!! Great way of showcasing how well the bike does on the road. Yeah, it's not made to go 60mph and cruise freeways but for dang near everything else this bike is awesome!! FWIW: I've ridden m/c's for the past 42yr/I'm 66; current ride '87 BMW K75; I owned a Honda 80cc scooter a few years ago, for in-city/Urban use. What I learned: 80cc= 35mph Tops. And in-city, it wasn't enough. Because everybody speeds. Throw 10-15mph PLUS- on every speed limited signage. Realworld: In my case, I would need at least a 125 to 200cc bike, to give me an HONEST and COMFORTABLE margin. I've been looking at the TW200 for years- as the PERFECT small m/c that you could take w/ you as part of a van, RV-type , multi-mode transpo trip....like you're in a campground, need water, and 8mi. away is a general store. I'd love to see different rubber/gearing for in-city use; accessories...like rear cargo bags, etc.

It's 90F+ here in California and a tad humid and the jacket is just great. I bought last year's model and it came with shoulder, elbow and back armor. Newer versions may not have armor included (not sure, but I know my Klim Dakar jacket had no armor included and it's expensive to buy a set). I have the hi-vis colored Induction.

    What's with that fence on the bridge? Are they afraid people are gonna jump in for a swim? You say several times you don't like to ride more than 50 mph in the TW. My local highways are 55 mph, and I take mine on them regularly. Sure, I'm putting along in the slow lane at 55, but the bike can do that all day long.

  • @MostroMoto

    @MostroMoto

    3 жыл бұрын

    Haha I’m not sure what the fence is for. That water is a reservoir so they have it all blocked off. I ride my TW200 around 50mph but when going any faster I definitely notice a lot more vibrations & high revs. The bike can definitely go faster then 50 but I feel like it’s hard on the engine, also in case of a emergency I feel like the brakes are not that capable at higher speeds. I ride a lot in New York and people drive crazy so it’s definitely a bit scary sometimes haha.

    Great question, the knobby tires on this bike are not that bad compared to a true “dirt” tire. They are relatively smooth on pavement, and I have had no issues with the vibrations from the bike! Loosen your grip on the handlebars and loosen your arms. Use your legs to grip the bike. Being ridged on the bike will amplify the looseness of the front and rear tire. Slow down and let the bike help you stay balanced. You have to trust forward momentum and centrifugal force to keep you upright.

    That complaint against using engine oil in your air filter doesn't make sense. First, were "oil" to seep into the intake, so what? Second, the filter isn't going to get hot, as it is away from the engine, and cooled by ambient air. That part seems very obvious. Nice video, so long as fast isn't important, your TW200 is a perfect bike.

  • @MostroMoto

  • @MostroMoto

    @MostroMoto

    3 жыл бұрын

    It depends a lot on rider weight & cargo. The bike can handle 55 but it’s definitely starting to work a bit. With a different gearing set up it should be better. Personally I would probably look at something a bit bigger. Because you might find yourself more comfortable on a longer commute at those speeds on a 300cc. That being said the TW 200 is a great bike, and you can certainly make it work, but there are definitely some sacrifices in power and comfort.

    The mirrors I have are the doubletaker “trail” mirrors. They have worked out great so far. The bars are from ProTaper woods high. I’ve got a review & install video on all the products in my “TW200 mods” playlist

    Definitely needs to work harder but not terrible. I wouldn’t take it on long rides, around town no problem

    It is fun to go fast on a slow bike that is until you hit the other side of a ditch and bend the bars over with your chest and then take the ambulance ride. Yup. Fun.
