He got super lucky he only got mildly juggled by moving away from the center of the attack in time and didn't get comboed to death xd

Wow, that last battle came in clutch. I could feel the stress from barely surviving that last arrow attack.

Since Galacta Knight floats off the ground, kirby can low profile the sword multi-jab, the shield beam attack, and often the flying-dashing lunge

I remember having a very easy and fun time beating Helper to Hero as Tac, and would be neat if they gave him the Kawasaki treatment of being far more than just a single use attack

I would have said “why not inhale a paint ball to get the Paint Ability to clear out the paint balls and use the cheat code to get the Copy Ability back”. But then I realized you wanted Kirby to hold onto that ability at every possible moment, even at the moments when you’re just guarding, excluding only the Mini Bosses and Kabula. That’s dedication. I unironically like the Copy copy ability just for being unique, with enough differences between inhaling, (doesn’t kill enemies in one shot deliberately for Player 1 and 2 can have the same ability, Mini Boss counter (especially against Chef Kawasaki and Mr. Tick Tock), easier time in Milky Way Wishes, and the best helper in Tac) and for looking cool. I want it to return despite the odds. Great video overall!

I felt the stress when you got hit at the end of Marx Soul's battle. The fact that you survived and did this challenge is insane.

You seam like the type of guy who would be able to go through every official Kirby game and do a tier list of EVERY KIRBY BOSS this would include more than just the mainline games but only official games so no fan games They can be ranked based on things like how fun they are to fight, your opinion on their design, how they act outside of there fight, how fun it is to watch someone else fight them The tiers would be S, A, B, C, D, E, and F S being the highest tier and F being the lowest tier

randomly clicked on this for the KSSU nostalgia but ended up really enjoying it! you got a real good voice for narration and your more casual script with the more adept editing is really fun! streaming and recording popoffs would be a good idea too though

That Galatica Knight guy looks pretty cool

This takes me back to when I grinded the true arena when I was a kid. When I read the title I knew immediately that Galacta Knight and Marx Soul would be… taxing to say the least. The paint attack from Marx Soul is difficult to dodge but not impossible: during the initial frames of Kirby’s jump he has invincibility and lasts for about a fifth of his jump height and if you want to bend the rules a little you could inhale the attacks as well. The ice bomb attack Marx drops can be jumped over as it hits the ground. Galacta knight has 4 possible moves when he runs up to you: A swipe, shooting a beam from his shield, a barrage of energy slashes, and sending a shockwave through the ground. The first three attacks can be dodged by crouching and the last attack has a big windup so you can react and jump away. My final nitpick is the Wheelie boss. If you fly against the edge of the screen Wheelie will almost always crash into it letting you attack them. Despite my criticism I enjoyed the video a lot and may try this challenge as well.

MAD RESPECT FOR DOING SOMETHING TEDIOUS !!!

This takes me back to when I tried to do challenge runs of this game as a kid. From just Helper to Hero speedruns (managed to get I think 4 minutes with Bonkers and everyone else to under 10 minutes except maybe Sir Kibble?) to the final challenge of a damageless, no copy ability run of The True Arena. I don't think I ever finished that last one lol

Just mod the game so copy can't copy abilities

Or homebrew your DS using Twilight Menu++, make sure you have the cheat database installed, load a Kirby Super Star Ultra ROM, enter the cheats menu, and select Copy. You can have it forever as long as you inhale and press Select.

I played Super Star Ultra on the DS just the other day! Also hammer is broken as hell and mirror is awesome.

That final boss was nerve wrecking...

KSSU is the best, I love kirby games but man this one is the cream of the crop

Idk if this particularly applies to SSU (haven't played it), but in other Kirby games, the puff of air that shoots when you stop hovering does damage, so if you really wanted to be a purist and keep Copy the whole way without cheats you *might* be able to do it with that for the minibosses, but I don't think anyone's that crazy. Either way great work, good job and I'm excited to see more from you! It takes a lot of skill to pull something like this off, and I'm glad you were able to overcome it!

The puffs don't damage bosses in any of the games if I'm not mistaken, only enemies

Was awesome to see an old fav game of mine played in an interesting way. Good Job! was a rough fight but you did it. An extreme challenge would be to do it without dyeing at all like the Area is built to be a single run all the way through. But you'd probably want to practice a bunch on bosses to get better with the attack patterns and timing between scan hits. You got skills good luck!

Don't sweat it man, When I seen your series of you doing all of the abilities so I assumed you were another reputable source for Kirby SSU stuff, and I wasn't wrong since you're pretty good at the game.

I actually recently beat the True Arena with every ability. For Copy, I just made a helper during the mid-boss section lol. I'd still rather use Copy over Fire, that's for sure 🤣

@@mastahmaxtah9339 Copy abilities in general were way worse overall, that's why.. Burning/fireball didn't really change, but being an advancing attack was infinitely better than like almost every other copy ability by default.

@@thewitheredstriker with most other abilities there is always some sort of way to dodge, some moves have invincibility frames, so abilities have specially guard that make it so that you take no chip damage from anything. There’s tons of ways to avoid I was just using an ability that had very little options lol.

Since guarding does damage, you can actually defeat all the mini-bosses by guarding on them without ever losing the copy ability.

i was wondering why he didn't try guarding marx's attacks to deal more chip, but i think he was avoiding it as damage not dealt by copy abilities beam. So a more traditional copy-only run (where you just have bring it all the way through to the end) would be able to beat them, assuming Phan Phan isn't always ready to grab. Edit: just scrolled down and saw a comment of his lamenting not having thought of it

@@snazzrin.7185 yeah i just tried to find a point where i could use guarding to damage phan-phan and failed, and the minimum b-press challenge run i looked at used plasma to damage phan-phan from a distance (of 1 cm)

For what it's worth, I feel like using that force ability cheat only facilitates the challenge, rather than invalidating it. The title is not "without losing the Copy ability", it's, "Only using" which means that using a cheat to enforce the rule doesn't seem wrong to me.

Enemies take one (1) damage when they touch you in the guarding state, including bosses. That could have been your out for True Mid-Boss All-Stars

Kirby also takes damage, though. You probably wouldn't have enough health to successfully kill all of them that way.

@@mikeyes620 Kirby only takes chip damage while guarding from certain attacks and most mid bosses don’t do enough damage to hurt Kirby through guard. However in true mid boss all stars two of the mid bosses have grab attacks that go through guard so you’d have to be cracked to do it still.

In superstar original there was actually a sweet spot where you wouldn’t copy I am assuming it’s not in this game

I've seen ProsafiaGaming do it, it's possible to do the paintball attack from Mark Soul damageless. Perhaps you flinched when you should've scurried, or you didn't have an upward attack.

@@GabrielRolland-l4n yeah it’s just because copy has a lack of option every other ability has some way to avoid it without having to play luck if the draw.

KSS is the best kirby game. and while I prefer the original SNES version (mostly nostalgia since it was possibly my first EVER video game when I was very little and because the faux-3d sprites and backgrounds from the KSSU version aren't my cup of tea, which is one of the issues I had with that era of kirby games tbh) KSSU is also insanely good.

I Just did the same thing but I almost had it, its almost hard to beat

With rock ability no is more hard? Because some bosses keep in your place and you need to back to kirby form and receive free damage

Nah, there are plenty of openings where Rock can reliably get a hit in and transform back without getting pinned down, plus it does tons of damage so it's more about learning what openings there are and you could likely do a no-damage run if you were patient.

@@Jaffersin yeah rock is super easy to finesse with so while it would take a good amount of attempts I think rock damage less even is still super possible

Now do it in one run without savestates. Jokes aside this is still very impressive. I definitely could not do it on my own.

When I was a kid I always had that 98 percent or so because of that one room where you need multiple kirbies to inhale the big stone block and I could never get them to do it with me which infuriated me as a child not having 100 percent, but then when I replayed it on 3ds I didnt have that issue, and I don't think I've had that issue in emulation either, but I could be wrong.

@@nkrumagames4796 Yeah I definitely feel your pain but I am pretty sure I have replayed it both on 3ds virtual console and standard emulation and I was able to get the kirbies to cooperate with me so easily it made me question why I ever had so much difficulty with it as a child. I was really surprised but I just tried to inhale it with everyone there in multiple locations and eventually they just, you know, actually cooperated and I got to enjoy finally 100 percenting it for the first time in my life. Unless the ambassador program version and other roms were patched specifically to update their AI in that one room, I just, idk I just have never had the same problem I did as a kid. Hell maybe the original physical cartridge I had was an older build of the game where they don't work with you but tldr just food for thought
