There's a surprising amount I've seen that go "Can I beat TOTK with only {blank}" then dupe 900 bombs, diamonds, lynel horns, etc. Like yeah, pretty sure if I turned on cheat engine even I could do a no damage run first try, but that kind of misses the point a bit. So definitely stoked to see you back at it!

when he said the sand was on his side, i immediately thought "you merely adopted the sand, the molduga was born in it, molded by it, it didn't see grass till it was already a man"

Two extra objectives you should probably add for future themed runs that use the Sages - firstly, upgrading the Vow of the respective Sage to a Solem Vow, and secondly obtaining the region's Divine Beast helm from its surface chest - wearing it causes the avatar of the repective sage to wear the helm of their ancestor, and presumably makes them stronger as well.

Honestly, considering the plotwist reveal at the end of the Eight Heroine sidequest, the narrative context for this run is actually a lot more appropriate than you probably expected at first. Also, probably not gonna be able to watch the full thing in one sitting, but I still just wanna say how I think it's incredible that you're willing to edit down probably multiple long streams into a movie-length's worth of a video. I'm not an editor myself, but I know it has to be a ton of work, and as someone who unfortunately lacks the attention-span to watch full-stream VODs, I truly appreciate it.

After seeing all the cool gerudo stuff in my first playthrough, it was a no brainer to make this my first TotK challenge run 😅 the heroine stuff fit just perfect too! Happy you're enjoying the video, it took a long time to edit but worth it for how fun of a challenge this was!!

​@@CrotonI just got off of my sand seal climbed up got it and came back to the seal and just went around the rock and it was much easier than what you did but you do win in coolness

I think a “Can you beat Tears of the Kingdom with only Traveler’s gear” would be a cool challenge, the weapons can only be traveler’s weapons, shields can be like those round wooden ones, and the armor can be the Hylian set

After you saved gerudo town, it just became “drinking game, every time link takes damage you down a noble pursuit”

Ok I just want to praise the editor who added the music; everything was perfectly timed and it added so much atmosphere to the gameplay.

I'm so happy my tip for him charge attacking during seized construct made it into the video! Also that Yiga Symbol at the end seems to hint the next one might be a Yiga challenge and that's exciting

I've always loved desert themes in Zelda games, which is why I had such a blast doing both of these!! 😄 thank you! I'm glad this run was my first time experiencing TotK's finale pre-main story, it was a worthy challenge

I have such major props for you with the Queen Gibdo fight. I ended up getting a bunch of magic weapons and rubies to spam her down with that. She and the Water Temple boss were so annoying/hard for me.

@@Croton oh yeah! I ended up locking Muckrock in a cage for lack of a better term so he would stop dodging.

Neat fact: If you rematch Queen Gibdo in the depth she drops a Queen Gibdo wing which adds +40 damage to your weapon (+80 on gerudo weapons) and also adds the wind blow effect to your weapon as well, easily making it the strongest fan weapon option in the game (followed by the Hudson cutout hilariously).

Yeah, and I think using the old zonai tunic would be fine until upgrading to full zonai set. But that might just be me lol

You should consider adding the Divine Beast helmets to the list for your non-Hylian runs since you can get them through quests now and dont need Amiibo

4:32 btw you can examine the crystal to get the laser beam as well, it just means you cannot activate the warp point until you get the crystal there

I love Gerudo stuff. By fusing a Gibdo Bone to a Gerudo Claymore, you can one-hit basically anything with a sneak strike!

I would use eightfold blades and puffshrooms since it can give you 16x damage when using sneak strike

⁠​⁠@@godzilaa4 With the Gerudo Claymore, Gibdo Bone, a +10 weapon modifier, and level 3 attack bonus, the sneakstrike does 1,344 damage. With the eightfold blade with all the above things, it does 1,560, so you’re right but it’s very close- though I’d still go for eightfold blade since it’ll have more durability long run than the claymore.

For a new run, you should totally do zonai only!!! I alredy have a savefile where I have done it, 34 hours of playtime. You have access to 5 sets of armor (zonite, gliding and the 3 elemental sets) and some pretty cool weapons! This comment is a little late for a response, but in case you do see it, I think this is a pretty cool idea!

Gotta say, the Gerudo mission was my fav. The temple was amazing, rijus power is pretty good, all things considered, and the Gibdos re-appearance made me smile when I saw they looked like Re-deads

5:36 its insane that when he says "its not a lot, but" i *immediately* think of that one scene with Dr Doofenshirtz. it's gotten outta hand how popular that line is.

Love the cosmo canyon (?) music in one of the segments. Final Fantasy VII was and still kinda is a bonding experience for me and my dad like three years ago (he played it in college) and that game was pretty good

I would have rather fought Sooga than Kohga. You make Exellent content.

Fun fact about that race it can be completed easily with a hoverbike but I do think its more interesting with the seal.

True!! I only use hoverbike for the depths or dragon hunting though, it would be too cheesy otherwise

You know i do like how the different people use the surrounding monsters for improve their weapons like lizal parts for zora, elemental lizal for gerudo, goron dont fight so no need to improve on thier "weapons" which arent really weapons but mining tools, and the rito use bows so no need really for improvement except their spears using boko parts

7:30 you can also throw materials (like apples, monster parts, etc) at those and it'll break them! It takes a few tries to get the right angle, but its not terribly difficult, so anything you have too much of would be good.

I love these challenge runs. Please make more!

@@Croton There's quite a few other good ones out there. If you haven't already listened to them, I also recommend the ones by Retro Remix Revue, Epic Game Music, Zelda Reorchestrated, The Red Wings, Sammolo, Mateyadrums, and the one hosted by Magillanica Lou Mayvin aka Deltasniper360.

This is just an idea but Cronton you should have added a rule where you have to defeat master Kohga and the yiga because of the wars between yiga and gerudo. I know it would make the challenge a little longer but it was just an idea.

My favorite thing I learned in this video is the unique lines the sages have during the final part of the game depending on which dungeons you have already beaten

I fought 3 of the Lynel in the Floating Colosseum and had a rough time getting bows but your map helped. Can’t wait to do this for each of your challenge runs. Keep up the great work!

This just once again shows the difficulty spike compared to botw, before you’d probably have a few weapons left over after beating calamity ganon, but here my guy was staking it all on his only weapon which so happens to be to strongest after plowing through a whole army.

I watched the botw one so many times and I’m so glad for this video

The most op thing in this combination is Sidon's shield, as it gives you the wet status for a LONG time. I think it for 3 whole minutes

Wow, whilst I was in my Rito Gear only challenge, I noticed this came out. Obviously this comment is a few weeks late, I also noticed from a screen recording that this came out literally 2 days after I started my Rito Gear only run. Besides that, you did amazing on this challenge run! :)
