Hello, might have been said before but : You only need one bomb to stun Oryx and prevent him from doing his wipe mechanic. At the end during final stand you could use only one bomb, dps as much as possible while one person gets ready to enter the second bomb as soon as he starts casting his second wipe-attack. You almost double the time you have. (Also lunafaction boots on a warlock would increase your rat king range for final stand)

Yeah, all this, Also x3 surge mods would help up the damage by just a bit, but any damage at the final stand would help with how close you guys were getting. Not sure what the others in the fireteam used but Toad only had x2 from what I could see.

RAT KING VALIDATION LETS FUCKING GO

So I've seen your team do this a lot on Oryx final stand. You only need 1 bomb to stun him at final stand, not both. This means that you can have one person do a bomb, get the full time for DPS, then have that same person or someone else get the second bomb, doubling the time you have for final stand.

Not sure on this but I think you can also save 2 bombs on the close side of the room and use them during last stand as well.

As a fellow rat man it is possible to kill oryx with only rat kings. You need lunafaction wellocks with triple kinetic surges and loaders, lastly you can double stun oryx if you only detonate one bomb at a time he will then call upon the darkness again and you get the other bomb detonated. You can also use rally barricades as a for extra range

I find it really funny how when fighting the Sisters and Oryx while using RATS as callouts, the fireteam had people who spell RATS with the first letter of their name. Basically, it would have Ruby on far left, Axolchi on far right, Toad on close left and finally Stecky on close right to go along with not only the callouts that were used and the actual challenge itself.

I think that a lunafaction well + everyone rocking triple surge + unravel debuff could do the trick That reload speed and extra scrap of damage might have given yall the edge, but idk

Lunafactions also increase the effective range by like 100% or something, not sure if that would have been enough to compensate for Oryx being far away

Yeah, toad wasn't using kinetic surge x3, he was only using x2... I know the 3rd is a tiny addition but an extra like 7% makes a difference as well as stacking ALL the kinetic reload as well would have helped greatly. Finally I too think a Luna well would have helped too... If I remember right healing rifts give reload speed while empowered give range but a Well technically counts as both so should help compensate for the range falloff

Another home run from Toad. I have heard of teams doing raids with a full pack of rat broadcast by Toad and Co no less is a blessed experience. Mighty fine transitions by the way, really loved the graffiti. It’s a shame there was no hunter on this run because a single tether may have been enough for you guys to do rat king dos for final stand considering how close you all were.

Haven’t seen a Rat King vs a raid in a while.

I'm not sure if this will make a difference, but one thing I thought I'd bring up is that Rally Barricade increases your Range on your weapon while your standing behind it. So that + a Lunifaction rift/well for even MORE range and reload speed I think would allow you to final stand Oryx. (maybe a few x3 surges for that extra 4% as well, just to 'squeak' out every last bit of damage). That's the only main thing I didn't see being used that I feel could have helped, but otherwise fantastic run and very fun to watch! Great work!

my clanmates and i did this but on Last Wish. it was awesome. we also did VoW with only trace rifles.

actually recently did this raid as rat king only with some friends, we managed to pull it off and looking at this, i can tell what might've helped with your run: tether- when we ran it, we were running 2 hunters (me included) as tether for the weaken damage, that helped quite a bit- and then on final stand, instead of getting both of the bombs at once, we took one at a time, that way it gave us most time possible before oryx doing the wipe, so yes! you can beat kings fall, using ONLY rat king to damage-

I feel like comboing rat king with gyrfalcons alongside The Recluse with a destabilizing rounds and repulsor brace role would be a hella funni thing

Honestly, I have always wondered how this would go if someone did a full mission with Rat king with a full party, looks fun as hell lol!!!!

I'm not sure if you did because the video would cut during final stand, but you might be able to squeeze out a tiny bit more time if you detonate each final stand bomb one at a time

If you guys want to do this again you could use Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves for increased reload and maybe a damage buff

you could run aeon safe arms using sect of force to hit precisions and boost ally damage and use lunafactions well if you didnt. maybe that would give a big enough damage boost or maybe not but loved the vid as always hope your all doing well!

I don’t know if it’s mentioned but maybe some extra people running mechaneers trick sleeves for the damage buff and also there is a glitch atm that doubles that dmg buff if you use 2 side arms, that might be enuf to squeeze yall to the end. Oryx dps phase having the boss do no dmg to u and small ads around to refresh the buff is perfect for this

You can detonate the final stand bombs 1 at a time for extra damage, that’s probably all you need. Especially if you add the triple surges and triple kinetic loader

The raid with holes that suck you in is called crotas, my lfgs have shown those holes have magnetic properties

One tip about final stand, you dont have to detonate both bombs at the same time. You can do them one by one to effectively double the length of final stand. it may be possible with just rat king if you do this

You could use Lunafaction Boots on warlock to extend your range in the wells, so you don't lose as much damage in the final stand due to him flying away from you. That could be just enough of a difference. Were you hitting for 4.5k in the intended range and 3k in the final stand, or was that just due to having weaken proc sometimes? You could also just use a tether, as tethers benefit the pack.

besides the bomb thing, you can use boots of the assembler for a 35% buff, which is more than well/bubble luna and rally barricade give you more range kinetic loader has a marginally faster reload scaler than luna felwinters helm can get you a 30% debuff, which is more than grenade's 15% maybe banner shield's 40% buff could be worth trying for giggles and 3x surge for 22%

More debuff grenades and maybe adding in jolt might help enough?

Have you tried it with Mechaneer's Tricksleeves or whatever those were called? Hunter exotic, boosts sidearm damage, albeit conditionally. Could make it actually possible

To complete the set of his signature weapons you could use Vexcalibur in a raid like VoG or GoS Not sure about Agers tho

Mechaneers tricksleeves with the new rocket sidearm can get you the damage buff consistanaly on oryx, we had two hunters do the damage rotatation, they stand outside the well activate the perk start damaging, enter the well and they have 4 seconds of that 2x damage buff, that was enough for my team to beat him

I had thought you could abuse the mechaneer's tricksleeves buff for double damage then when it ran out use well to survive

for each damage phase at oryx when you were considering other options, someone couldve switched to lumina and gotten a few kills and given everyone Blessing of the Sky for an extra 10% damage buff (because you already have well). that MIGHTVE been able to push out that last little bit of damage for final stand

When in final stand, have one person detonate one bomb, then have the second person detonate the second bomb a few (~2-3) seconds after. The goal is to stun, not to prolong the final damage phase. Detonate the bombs one at a time, rather than detonating both simultaneously.

Next you should do a raid as kaijus from the monster verse, like chaos reach as Godzilla, synthoceps titan as kong, stuff like that.

Mech tricksleeves would have gone crazy

Don't know if you have done this before but would love Root of Nightmares only in Carl Wheezers voice or Sheen's voice

What if someone used Salvation’s Grip to create a crystal to move closer to Oryx? Maybe the damage could improve just a bit. Also make sure you have kinetic surges.

For final stand. I noticed you kept doing both bombs at the same time. You know you can do one at a time and double the final damage phase time!

So, me and my crew did all raids Rat King only, and Oryx was definately quite the challenge. However, i think i saw you use both bombs on final phase at once, you can actually spread them out. How we beat him rat king only is exactly what yall did, but final phase we did one bomb, get as much damage as possible, then get 2nd bomb when he calls upon the darkness the second time, extending the final phase considerably.

I have a feeling that if everyone was running reload mods, kinetic damage enhancement, and you saved bubble for final stand for weapons of light + well you could probably squeak out enough damage for final stand with just rat king. I’m not sure if you were trying that but it may be possible to only use ratking

Add a hunter? Tether, grenades and smoke bombs weaken enemies. If you don't want to do damage with the super I'm sure there is ways around that by choosing a "tactical tether" spot? These things combined could potentially boost everyone's damage just enough? Just a theory. I'ma see if I can get a group together and try at least. 😎 Looks fun!
