Fun fact about Ulysses: he talks in such a flowery, slow dialect because he's meant to be portraying English (or whatever your game language is) as his SECOND language. He comes from a tribe that only spoke their own native language until exposed to Caesar and absorbed into the Legion. He's methodical and whimsical in his speech because he is thinking in his mother tongue and converting it to another language in real time, and therefore tries to be very deliberate with his speech. His holotapes in the Big MT and around Lonesome Road are some of my favorite Fallout content. His story with the White Legs made me cry as a teenager, it's really great stuff. when i arrived in the divide for the 1st time and while listened ulyses speech, in my mind was like: "ffs, common, can you just shup the hell up?"

@@tazinganimations yeah. like you can only use the stuff you fid in there. like that's all the ammo you get, all the crafting items. seems easy but if that's your only source of items it will be a pretty brutal run

fyi if you're still considering doing a 'Who Needs Tygan' challenge run, it's def doable on Commander difficulty. I'm getting pretty close to the end. Surprisingly I haven't lost a single soldier :o, so it's absolutely possible on a harder difficulty.

Nah, the proving ground was basically useless :D (except the Ruler weapons). _'Who Needs Tygan'_ prohibits the most of the stuff in there except the damn SPARK ofc. You gotta look up the item criteria for that achievement if you haven't already, bc it's pretty grim. It's almost like _"XCOM 2 but you can only buy items that were available from day 1"._ Almost, with some minor exceptions like plasma grenades

Yes. Don't even need to watch the vid to know, but I will anyway since I'm already here. Good vid. Rocket's Red Glare is also a really cool weapon (pretty OP) from Lonesome Road (my fav dlc from FONV).

New to your channel really cool! I love all Fallout and Elder Scrolls content so so guess that’s why your channel was recommended. I really adore New Vegas, despite all my experience being on PS3 (not bad at first aside from usual crashes and frame rate dips) but once that game save file gets big the RAM limitations literally slow the game to 1 frame a second and literally splutters to a halt. It says a hell of a lot for a game that I plodded on with it despite it bring the buggiest game I ever played. If only Bethesda had given Obsidian more than 18 months, that could have smoothed things out and optimised the game more for PlayStation (specialist port utilising the 7 SKU’s) would have made a night and day improvement. I’ll have to find the funds to get a gaming PC to enjoy NV and all the mods. Sorry I’m droning on really enjoyed this video will check out your other content. Lonesome Roads Couriers Mile DEADLY☠️

A suggestion, can you beat fallout 4 with a rolling pin? Rules, one modification is allowed, but only the first two modifications on the modification menu for the rolling pin. (If you wish, I would suggest a bleed build) Survival difficulty to offset the bleed build option. No power armor allowed. Swan is a must fight boss at some point. Hazmat suit allowed for glowing sea since no power armor. (If applicable, ballistic weave can be added.) Have fun! And Happy New Year!

Been watching some Evil Dead stuff again so how about beating Fallout New Vegas (or 4) as Ash Williams? - Short Barrel Shotgun only - Ripper, or any chainsaw esc weapon like the Industrial Fist. Maybe Luck 1 only but that'll be optional and up too you.

I honestly had more trouble with Ulysses than I did with Legate Lanius. Those eyebots make a big difference.

You should try beating new vegas with only blood-nap(unique Bowie knife found in the courier’s mile)

If you're still up for suggestions, I got one for XCOM 2 since I feel like compared to other XCOM 2 challenge runners, your runs have been among the best. *"Can you beat XCOM 2 using 'conventional gear only'?"* (you're limited to the gear from the "Who Needs Tygan" achievement). This is one I'm in the middle of doing myself. No one else has done this challenge run online, so I kinda had to make up my own guide as I went along.

Don't worry I'm in the middle of doing a psi-operative solo run and have completed the ranger and grendier runs (results may vary) but a tier 0 run with the starting weapons can see that being fun!

My head canon is that he's some random nutjob that just blames you for no good reason, he's an idiot anyway, how the hell is what happened in the Divide the Couriers fault? the Courier was merely carrying a package, what that package did isn't on him/her, it's like blaming the postman when you get a nasty bill through the door.

Lonesome Road is great environmentally, but it really falls flat narrative-wise. You'll never get me to buy into what Ulysses is saying because it has no effect on my courier because Obsidian dropped the ball with a big portion of Fallout New Vegas's narrative: You. The started game in medias res (in the middle) which is fine, but you're supposed to circle around and show how we got here, which means they needed to dedicate time to allowing the Courier to fill out some kind of past in the game and have the narrative respond to it (not change per se, but acknowledge it). This never happens. So you're forever just some mailman too whatever to die and you go on and do stuff because lest we remember for the sake of a presented narrative your headcanon does not count. Lonesome Road tries to do this but it's just Ulysses talking garbage to a guy who was shot in the head and that's it. It's trying to build pathos on nothing.

Dont mean to come off as an ass but i’d reccomend working on breath management, the gasping every other sentence can get a little tiring

I can't stand that noise & inhale Frame does at the beginning of EVERY sentence. Once u hear it u cannot not notice it but other than that i like the Fallout content tho so I deal with it.
