When i was a kid, and first played these games i actually never figured out about takedowns, the combo takedowns, or the ground takedowns, so i literally just wailed on enemies and patiently waited for them to get back up before taking them out. After discovering how braindead i was, the combat has never seemed better.

i did the exact same thing!! looking back it’s so funny and sometimes i’ll still play that way and it’s kinda fun watching them slowly get up then just one hitting them

Did you know that in Arkham Knight, you can pick enemies up after they fall down to the ground to start a beat down combo which means that you don’t have to use your fists while they’re on the ground? It’s RT + B

They did that at least once, at 57:05. Dunno if it makes it any faster, though 🤔

Something I accidentally found during the Mr. Freeze fight was that you can actually still drop attack from a frozen rail as long as you time it perfectly and he's in the exact right position, coming in or out from a door. It won't give you the prompt, you'll just fall on top of him and it'll count. So if you're good at manipulating his path, that was another option.

You're a genius for coming up with that Mr Freeze strat. You *can* pull enemies off ledges with the Batclaw in Arkham Knight, but only if there's no barrier in the way. I did it in The Long Halloween, Part 2. You can get a *fourth* zap with the drone by disrupting the controller tablet, which is enough to almost completely clear some maps in one fell swoop

I love the 4:3 aspect ratio you have for Arkham Aslyum, gives it a more classic horror game feel, I'm def gonna play it in that format once I get new gen remaster

idk why but just being able to just beat the shit out of a downed thug in Arkham Knight was like the best improvement in combat. it's just so funny seeing you be so brutal to them.

Yep. You can sneakily hop down and open the gate, then use the Batmobile to take them out. However, there is a little room that they run back into, so it's not complete cheese.

In asylum you can sprint kick the insane inmates and if you time it right they'll die from fall damage its probably a glitch but seeing them ragdoll was some of the most fun i had in that game

Here in Brasil crime is so high that, in the most dangerous cities, people joke that if someone is shot on the beach they just "drowned" so the police has one less crime to investigate, so, if you don't see the body after knocking him out the building, he just ran away

You do know that if Thugs are close to ledges or if they're climbing a ladder, they can knocked out by a Batarang?

try 'No Upgrade Challenge' on Hard Mode difficulty in Batman: Arkham Asylum, and it was incredibly challenging. I initially wanted to make a video of my attempt, but unfortunately, I lost the recording.

Epic challenge, glad you had to resort to punching those clowns 139 style

While I don't think we need to count the tutorials since a lot of games force you to do certain things regardless of what you do, it is still very cool seeing you try to work around things as best you can. The Freeze solution was just great.

58:40 for the minigunner you can use the smoke and then strike him, since there isn't ANY nightvision thugs in Knight, smoke are extremely op and you can gain so much more time like, also yes the smoke duration IS long enough to actually take out the minigunner by striking.

Definitely hilarious that that _one_ random Arkham City thug is so takedown-necessary that Batman him-fucking-self needs to learn how to phase through solid matter in order to kick his ass without a takedown lol. Also, it's definitely stupid how the disruptor doesn't work in that room-the only reason I can think of for the game to do something like that is because it's in a tutorial section and it needs you to actually learn what's being taught, but the only way to get the disruptor that early is if you've already completed the entire game before!!

He said you are unable to use any other gadgets except Sonic Batarang during tutorial sections.

I'm 50/50 on the glitch. Technically you can glitch into the sewers and go to the end of the game. Meaning you don't need to fight and bosses or spend an hour on Mr Freeze...

Arkham Origins combat really does forces you to get good at it.

I would really appreciate if you totalled how many takedowns in the series. Other than that great videos.

In Arkham city you can repeat drop attack many times if you time yourself right. But you have to have an upgrade to walk on the line from line launher.

That unfortunately doesn't work on Mr. Freeze. After you use the line launcher drop attack on him once, he'll adapt and be able to instantly detect you if you try line launching again

funny thing is I played arkham knight without takedowns that were not stealth. until I came to the joker part in the end of arkham knight story. I was wondering why its impossible to kill them and spent like an hour before realizing I missed a game mechanic lol.

*HUGE* tip, please up the gain on your audio if you're not comfortable speaking too loudly. And make sure you go over your script enough times so you can say at least most of it without needing to actually read it. The jokes were clever but they lose impact when you can tell they're written out. A good way to avoid doing this would be to list out everything you need to mention, but not write out exactly what you need to say. If you're not comfortable speaking off the top of your head, just practice practice practice until it doesnt sound robotic. At some point you wont need to do it anymore and that'll let you focus more on your writing.

Given that there's a section in the main campaign of B:AK where it *forces* you to use a Fear Multi Takedown, I didn't think you'd be able to do it 100% no takedowns, but I am surprised it was so relatively few

Sadly not available to buy past ps3, but with a ps plus premium membership you can play it. Game is still buggy asf, but was still able to beat it during the free trial and cancel my membership after. Hope that's a little helpful!
