I'm amazed that you didn't give in and dupe the throwing knives earlier, which would have been totally fair, if you ask me. Luckily, Elden Ring should be a lot easier, kukris actually do pretty good damage, they scale, and they cause bleed. It's one of the easiest ways I've found to fight Lansseax on all bosses runs.

that was a very knife run, good sir. loved it. as a student of the firebomb academy it fills me with joy to see the throwing knife academy stay strong.

Thanks for sharing your actual irl strategy for collecting throwing knives. A lot of runners just say that something presumably will take ages to get through, and then smash cut to it being finished

I think i would have quit this run 15 times over just from the starting area. I cant believe how much dedication you have for all of this. This vid deserves every view it gets and likely so much more for all the suffering that you went through for those damn knifes :v

With stuff like that knife farm I think it’s completely reasonable to just dupe or cheat in max knives. I don’t think anyone wants you to farm for weeks and weeks on end for the sake of authenticity. Just proving that getting the knives legit is possible is enough.

If it was me, I would skip any farming and just cheat stuff in, or ask other people to help. After all, it is possible to get 99 throwing knives by farming, so it is possible, even if you don’t do the farming yourself.

Fun fact: Bluepoint removed the duplication glitch just to make JK suffer doing knife farming Also I already couldn't believe that it was possible to turn Adjudicator into an obstacle, but here you demonstrate how you can even turn true king Allant into one.

That's the true goal of our challenge runs: to make normally easy bosses into traumatic experiences!

Mandatory actions should never count against challenge runs. The game forced your hand into using something other than throwing knives.

Knife to meet you Looks like JK is going back to the classic of his throwing knife academy, and it means Firebomb academy is getting a worthy opponent.

The amount of work you put into this run is astounding. mad respect dude. i would have NEVER done this. i love the souls games to death but your a mad man ( in a good way ). incredible

You have the patience of a monk. I would've started using cheats to spawn the daggers at the Phalanx fight XD

I feel like just the challenge itself is hard enough, so farming souls which is just an easily repeated tedious task could have been replaced with duping, modding, etc.

Well, correct me if I`m wrong but I think you can farm those stealth knives in a relatively easy manner. Kill those ninja guys that drop the daggers by luring them to the fire downstairs and make them commit suicide, you can actually grab the items they drop. I think I used that trick to farm some white herbs when I played the game. Although it was in the original demon souls not the remake so idk. Btw, congrats this is an amazing video.

Yeah it was more the time it would take, it's a bit of a run to even get to them and luring them down to that flaming ball is inconsistent at best. Farming 99 would have taken a really long time that to be honest I was not prepared to put into this given how long it had taken already. Glad you liked the video 🙂

Finally, FINALLY I can watch this video! Great run! That grind at the beginning looked like absolute hell, also the sobbing 'I was free!' line, that's a big mood lol

Honestly, mad props for not just using the storage dupe. I don't actually know if it's possible for the remake, but in the original you can just duplicate 99 of any item you want with stockpile thomas and the blacksmith.

Your therapist will have to put in extra hours after this XD Anyway your magic video inspired me to make this challenge myself (on three characters cause i'm pretty bad)

Dude… I would have absolutely accepted a start with 999 knives. After your explanation of where they could be bought I thought “Ok, he can just cheat some in to start” and then you kept talking… and kept going… and kept grinding… the dedication of this man!

This exact run might actually be fun in Elden Ring. It has so many different throwing knife items, and before anyone asks; yes bone darts count as throwing knives.

Elden ring consumables are literally op compared to any other souls games, many different variations, scaling up with stats and there are millions of different buffs that work.

As someone who has done a consumable only run of DS2 I honestly can't imagine limiting myself to only Throwing Knives in any game where they're worse than they are in DS2. The animation speed combined with the low damage would be infuriating to deal with and I simply don't have the patience for something like that. Hats off to you for enduring challenge runs like this.

Amazing run! I honestly don't mind if you do workarounds like dagger stabbing the Phalanx. It's just as interesting to see what isn't possible as what is possible.

Technically you DID kill the Phalanx goons with a throwing knife, you just didn't throw it to kill them. It's all about finding the loopholes in a challenge.

If you'd started this channel in the OG DeS, you could've easily dupe glitched the daggers and saved yourself all that wasted time farming for them.

There’s also were very helpful item glitch in demon souls that you could’ve used to bypass the farming

I swear From Software has some kind of anti-farming built into their games. While looking at peoples drop rates for Rune Arcs in ER dropped by rats there was a similar observation done, the first few drop according to the loot table and then the chances quickly fell of a cliff for some reason.

storm king was always so weird to me its this giant flying monster that inexplicably has less hp than a random hobo we meet in a prison

I find that knives are far more effective when simply held and swung, would recommend this tactic for anyone doing this run. Dunno why Fromsoft balanced it this way, but using a knife like a standard melee weapon has proper scaling and relies on the durability system, must be an oversight

Seriously I think you can hack the throwing knife need. We would like to watch the exciting part and you have a life to.

20:14 - in the PS3 version, you could kill the first Maneater shooting him with a bow and poisoned arrows before crossing the fog wall. I don't know if it's still possible in the remake, nor if it's possible with kunai, but that cheese immediatelly came to mind.

you cant do it in the remake. at least not with a bow, ive never tried using throwing knives but its probably safe to assume it doesnt work either.

@@AutoZone0001 yeah, most likely not. You had to use a bow with long range in the first place (can't remember if I used the White or the Spider bow when I did it), and throwing would be pretty much free-aiming...
