Would you ever consider doing a yiga clan run, like use the sheika armor but red and only use Yiga weapons? It would kind of be like being a defecting Yiga warrior who decides to actually defeat Ganon to fix the damage they have caused.

I think a "Commoner Gear Only" challenge could be a lot of fun to see if it is possible. So like, Traveler's Gear, farming tools, cooking tools, maybe even mining gear

Zora was always my favorite race, it sucks how low power their hear is compared to others since it is my favorite aesthetically. Still really cool to see this.

Imagine seeing a shadow over you and then feeling a metal box crush your skull, only to respawn minutes later and feel it happen again.

When you finish with the 4 races, you should try a monster enthusiast run. Can only use normal mob equipment, (Boko/Moblin and Lizal gear as well as bones from stal creatures. Secondary mission is that you must meet Kilton and obtain all creature disguise masks.

I think it would work with some unique challenges, i.e getting all the masks and using the dark armour, making a monster cake or something, because there is TONS of boko and lizal items so it might be too easy

I did this challenge as well, and my hardest part was getting the camera rune to get the zora leggings. Through a series of complicated snipes and hours of attempts, I finally got the blue flame to the tech lab using a bow. This was a very fun challenge for me as well. Great video croton keep up the great work!

Was literally just sitting here thinking about how limiting BOTW was and how hard it’d be to go back. Almost feels like the entirety of BOTW was just early game TOTK. New games def not perfect though, feels a good bit easier maybe too easy. It prob was what you were hoping for

Honestly I’m still so amazed at the absolute power move the devs made by making weapons not consume durability while on lynel back. It’s just so nice to know I can farm for an [ancient axe ++ with max increase attack up +] only once and then always lay into lynels with my ancient armor set bonus and never have to worry about the effort of getting another of my perfect axe ever again.

One of my favorite things is that Croton puts the music he used and when in a google doc, that way when i hear a vaguely familiar song, or a song i just really like the vibe of i can check the list and find out what it is. Thanks for that Croton

I love the aesthetic of all the Zora weapons in BotW. One reason despite their weak attack stats I still grab them whenever I see them.

You could’ve saved so much durability on that first Zora weapon if you got Electric Arrows to unequip enemies’ weapons. The Bow of Light in the DBG fight is not forced, you can leave it and use a Zora bow with Ancient Arrows. So you either have to allow a non-Zora weapon or allow any kind of arrow.

Basically going to zora’s domain, through the large amount of challenging enemies, naked and with no weapons but two bombs and a bit of wood and cloth that serves as a flying machine.

“Zora weapons take pride in their durability” Yet the plastic Spring Hammer made by a hunchback has more durability...

I get the joke, but to be clear: that's called amortisation. Elastic string evenly spreads the impact force along the weapon making it less affecting the overall integrity. But inelastic impact is more likely to damage the object is has been applied to. It works both sides, so the Spring Hammer has next to none chance to kill the enemy, but just bounce it around.

Great to see this video happened! I was thinking that the rito may be the hardest race to do this type of speedrun for because their swords/spears deal abysmal damage and there are so few of them scattered throughout the map, but then I remembered the falcon and great eagle bows so with those things it shouldn't be too difficult. What may be an even GREATER challenge would be using only Goron gear. It sounds easy because the Gorons melee weapons deal tons of damage and are fairly common around Eldin, but you wouldn't have access to a bow or shield for the entire speedrun :o

If you're not counting races, then traveler's gear only would be cool because they deal basically no damage. Only korok gear would be pretty hard too because the sword doesn't respawn and you'd technically have to complete all the shrines to get the cap, trousers, and tunic of the wild to complete the challenge.

For the goron run I'd assume he'd be doing the same thing as when he beat Ganon with only drillshafts with him charging Hyrule Castle after getting enough weapons and do all 4 blights before Ganon or he might make an exception for Daruks Protection, and the Boulder Breaker, and use something like a tree branch or get a knights bow or another metal bow to light the many torches inside of Vah Rudania

The blue fire arrow soaring through the night sky actually looked hella beautiful

This is so impressive and its wild how creative people are with different BOTW runs. It still feels really fresh for a 4/5 year old game

Wow, this looks like a really tricky challenge! Zora weapons do so little damage... Do you think you'd attempt a bows only challenge? I think that's the most interesting!

they have really good durability at least, and the lightscale trident is the highest durability weapon (not counting weapons that roll with durability increase perks) in the game besides the fully upgraded master sword.

Most of all I found the editing of this video the best part. Not a moment of boredom while still getting a good overview of the path you took, the only disorienting moment was when you went from the shooting range suddenly to Vah Medoh. Very good video.

A good idea for a run, and good choice in background music! The Mario music (especially Bowser's Inside Story's final battle, a good choice for the Lynel battle!) included a few of my favorite Mario tunes, haha. Great work on the video!

Pls can you make an ancient only run! It would be so cool seeing as you've already done a traditional sheikah run. Although it might be a bit harder because ancient weapons are quite late game..

Worst part would be trying to get armor, cause you'd have to farm guardians, and getting your first weapon would stink. But, maybe you could buff it because (maybe) the master sword, rusty stuff, champion's tunic, and old clothes could "ancient" even though the aren't really the cool laser ones

I loved the Zora armor. I wish they would've designed it more after the Zora Armor from Twilight Princess. That was best outfit Link's ever had.

Maybe! Also a Knights playthrough! The knights armour is actually has some of the highest armour in the game, but it’s outshined because it doesn’t provide stats.

@@laraschroeder5195 Yeah, max upgrading it makes most enemy attacks futile. But by that point you kind of don't care about dying at all anyways (max hearts, mipha's grace, inventory full of hearty meals) so it's best to spice it up with barbarian or sheikah gear to add some challenge as well

Cro, I gotta say these runs are awesome to watch. Very entertaining seeing how you strategize for the battles and your expertise. Can’t wait for the Rito and Goron and maybe Lynel weapon only runs. :)

Yeah, just about everything damages Vah Medoh's cannons, they are just normal enemies with 80 health and a decently large amount of defense. I think bomb arrows just deal extra damage

Idea: do a run with only monster wappons, bows, shields and the dark armor from kilton

You know, I don't think the bomb rune counts as a penalty in these kinds of challenges since it's an essential part of the game.

When I saw him struggling with the windblight fight, it made me realize how much of an archer I am. I have never gotten hit by any of his tornadoes or laser bullet things, and I didn’t even know what they did, because I’m always just shooting him out of the sky

Nah, Windblight is just really easy. It's just more difficult when you have limited bows and have to be conservative for cough, cough, thunderblight.

No way! 2 days ago I was at zora’s domain and re-crafting the light scale trident, and I thought “what if croton did a zora only run?”

I absolutely love these challenge videos, one i world adore seeing would be a bokoblin only run. I can imagine it would be very difficult if only because of the weapons all burning in death mountain, but it would be a cool display of the lesser used boko weapons and could include the barbarian set to complete the aesthetic.

I have a challenge for you that took me ages to beat. You have to use yiga clan weapons only. You can dye the stealth set red for armor. And you can only heal with mighty bananas. You can cook those and only those

I seriously love watching these challenges, although it DOES make me feel a little silly for being so ecstatic back then when I first beat Gannon in BotW. I hope to get enough skill to complete some crazy challenges like this lmao

Handy tip: blue flames as well as normal flames in burning areas (death mountain) will stay permanently lit so you really don't need to waste bow durability on that one terminal

Arrows burn after a while. You need to keep refreshing to keep it going long distances.

@@scarymeunster9095 all I did was keep the arrow in my bow and it won't ever burn up, only if you fire it can it burn

Croton you have inspired me to do the ancient run I have already done 2 Devine beasts and on my way to the third I just wanted to thank you for the inspiration to do the challenge

Oh god, the next challenges for the races of Hyrule are rito and Goron. Im scared to see him never use a shield or a bow(may not be possible) but the drillshaft is an option!

Goron isn’t possible, you need bow to enter Vah ruta(other beasts can be entered with bombs, but you really need shock arrows for ruta

If I did the challenge I would allow a knights bow for the goron since it’s in daruks gearset from the champions ballad

Legend says it the scoop is still breakdancing

I'd love to do this with the Gerudo stuff like you did! It sounds challenging but thrilling.

Challenge idea! You have to complete every shrine and devine beast without killing a single enemy and without armor. Mandatory enemies like guardian scouts in tests if strength and blights are still allowed but anything else is banned. This will make you be more careful whilst playing and if you really want to, you can make it a hardcore challenge. I hope you consider this suggestion.

that's just late game gear only lol. only real issue'd be nabbin the first weapons, at least on normal mode, since you'd have to smash a crate over one's head like 20 times.

I learned that if u want to get a nice horse with 4 stamina bars u need to find a horse with not many colors like what u did I hope this help others with horse stuff in BOTW
