Can You Beat Batman Arkham City Without Takedowns?

Batman Arkham City has always been one of my favorite games. I challenged myself to answer the question of can you beat Batman Arkham City without using takedowns?
After seeing the recent popularity of videos like can you beat Batman Arkham without taking damage, without gliding, without grappling, and without punching and countering, I decided to give these Arkham challenges a go myself. I'm playing through and trying to beat the entire Arkham series without using takedowns. I'm currently made it halfway through the Batman Arkham series, I still have Batman Arkham Origins and Batman Arkham Knight to go.(As well as dlc's).

Defeating freeze without takedowns is incredible, i would take my mask off for you but this would reveal my true identity..
I miss Kevin Conroy so much. I really do hope he's up there in heaven resting in peace. We love and miss you Kevin Conroy. We love miss you, so much. Best Batman ever!

The challenge may sound ridiculous in my head, but i really can't see myself going through the game without takedowns🤣
i was about to say "thats so easy" but then i remembered predator. This is a great idea which i think is also original which is insane for an 11 year old game. cant wait for the next games!

at 5:28 that place is different in new game plus and the thug is a addition the developers thought it was funny because he was yelling from the rooms and the other thugs couldn’t hear him
Yeah I've done this challenge myself and I was also successful using the Nora Statues strat
You could've used Beatdowns during Predator to take some enemies out faster also, great job on Mr. Freeze, absolutely brilliant

Cool challenge, pun intended. I wonder if it’s possible to beat mr freeze with just the drop attack? Also the thug behind the glass is only in NG+ for some reason idk.

@@Knerdd Me too. He was THE Batman voice and from the interviews I saw of him, he seemed to be such a lovely guy. Him and Mark Hamill...Batman and The Joker....It couldn't get better than that.

Only figured out how to combat takedowns on like the 10th play through. Child me could not even begin to comprehend having to press two buttons at once

Bro same I used to struggle so much with that😂 I remember that I would have to look down at my controller for a good 1-2 seconds to even make an attempt at one of those combat takedowns

Because of you I have begun to do this myself yesterday and have only used 2 because I don't have NG+ yet

The guy in the widow is just something they added in new game plus, I don’t know why they did case he doesn’t add anything and is just an extra enemy to take out, but they did lol

Nice video but looks like you forgot that on new game plus you can also activate landmines with the disruptor and take down multiple enemies in one time

Yeah I forgot to do the side quest to unlock that weapon, definitely made predator a lot more difficult than it had to be
In the stealth tutorial you tried using the explosive gel on the wrong wall. You put it on the left wall, but the enemy was standing directly infront of the right wall.

Trust me I tried it on both walls, and neither worked. I just took the clip of me trying it on the left wall instead of the right one

@@McNab1986 seems like you're just trying to hate/start an argument with me for no reason. Just because the challenge was technically a fail at the start doesn't mean I can't attempt to beat THE REST of the game without takedowns. The rest of the challenge was by far the most entertaining part for me and the majority of those who enjoyed this video. If all you want is an answer, then no one's stopping you from clicking off the video after 5 minutes. However, if you want to see the rest of the game attempted under the same conditions/restrictions (also the much better part of the video), then that's what it's there for
