@@Tiaxzify Stronghold Unofficial patch actually could fix it.. Multiplayer is terrible cus of these broken OP units..

Imagine the amount of arrows the very first person they spot is going to get.

The first seven minutes of this video played out like an old-school Looney Toons episode, but 7:34 felt like busting a hornets nest and seeing how many bugs were actually inside.

Pikes would be my natural response too, considering they take a hell of a lot of crossbow bolts and move at a decent speed for their armoured nature. Plus some knights after them maybe. Horse archers would also be okay to at least lay down some fire. Though rams were initially a decent response and technically one can also use siege towers as a distraction.

Yeah was too lazy to make pikemen's production buildings, so I didn't bother making them

I like to imagine some chad medieval king refusing to use ranged siege equipment charging forts and castles with shields and rams much to the garrison's bewilderment

Man, troop limit is so annoying in every Stronghold game.

@@mamory3791 you can make 200 but 20-30 are just workers and the rest are troops. But yeah this is way low compared to stronghold.

@@funnyclips1189 True but that is not satisfying at all, a max of 1000 is still not good enough for any rts in my opinion.

You should use range bug. Manual shooting adds +1-2 range comparing to automatic. This is the only way to beat SH original Pig`s castle on max. difficulty with 0 casualities.

Pretty sure that's fixed on latest patches though, or at least you can't do that against towers/walls anymore Also didn't want to abuse bugs or anything, wanted to brute force it!

A full length episode satisfies everyone.

Among non siege troops pikemen tanks the most amount of xbow shots. Probably mixing them in with knights would be better than swords and knights. Also did you try adding maximum positive fear factor?

No I didn't! Fear factor only gives damage boost so I thought I had a much bigger problem here You're right about pikemen though, I was too lazy to switch every production building to pikes, so I didn't bother

@@Jefflenious Ah fair fair. Yeah closing the distance is the bigger problem, 25% more damage does nothing if they aren't attacking.

Thing is their leather armor is not even that significant, it's their crossbows that make them OP. I would reduce their range tbh.

Crossbows actually shoot less further than bows. I would do this in the game for balance. And at the same time, I would make european archers with longbows shoot a little further than arabian archers, its for balance too

Lmao joke's on u tunnelers literally have 0 effect on square and round towers(they're immune to them):Tunnelers can only destroy the smaller towers,but not the ones that can house ballistas and mangonels. That's why Jeffle didn't even bother to say"no tunnelers allowed":Because he actually knows things about this game unlike urself who's obviously never played it in ur life lol

You probably could have done it with the knights if you hotkeyed them in smaller groups so they didn't just stand around and get shot at

why you dont use miners insted crossbows at the end?

IMO you should have used Pikemen instead of sowrdsmen. They are faster, more resistant to crossbow fire, and do more damage to buildings. I was surprised you didn't use them. The end result wouldn't probably change much though

Personally would have drowned them in spearmen and slaves, then the battering ram batallion follows. After the tower is destroyed, even more spearmen and slaves screening for a mob of macemen.

at that point in a real game you just gotta go the starve-by-seige route

Ok now do it when the crossbows have max positive bonus from fear factor, have fun.

Sending 500 pikemen at the tower will work very easily.

What about tunnellers?

I have tunnelers which you did not ban and i guess micromanaging horse archers

Only shields were able to withstand the crossbow fire! And yeah rams are technically melee units so no restrictions here, I just didn't want to outrange them that would be boring

Well, its the obvious solution against archers/x-bows, so why wouldnt you use them?

wtf... This is hard lmao, glad to see that enemy lords don't spam crossbowmen that often, they have thse, but like they don't have more than 500

Tunnelers. Then just roll over them with either mounted knights or assassins *shrug* You only forbid the use of catapults, mangonels, trebs and ballistas. So i'd go with tunnelers. Eventually cover them under siege shields. They tunneler only has to survive until he dug into the hole. After that he's kind of invincible down there. Once the tower is gone Mounted Knights or Macemen (easier to produce than MK's as you don't need stables, thus less space and they are fast) or assassins (invisible until they got considerably close). Eventually flush in a good chunk slaves as baits.

If you can't beat them join them

and ppl ALWAYS say horse archers best xbows any day. sure, cuz mobility, only. NOTHING BEATS THE SHEER POWER OF XBOWS!!!!! not even European armor!!!! they had 2 make em fire slow 2 balance. 1 shot no armor, 3 shot leather, Arab armor. what can archers do? 3 shot a spear and 5 an archer? Buff xbow +1 n even Arab archer dies in 1. Y USE ARCHERS?????

Yeah, that would absolutely... not work at all! xD Macemen are not faster than knights, deal less damage, and die like 8x faster than knights vs crossbow bolts. You saw how 300 knights got absolutely massacred? That's the equivalent of like 2400 macemen going down at the same time.
