"Presence does not have to be slow." "Zen: Hurry slowly." "Have 80% of your attention in the DOING itself, and 20% on where you want to get to." "Working fast with PRESENCE implies enjoyment of the activity, and not being present usually implies lack of enjoyment of the activity and arising of stress." "Do it actually being fully CONSCIOUS of EVERY MOVEMENT and enjoy the ENERGY behind it, rather than mentally projecting to the future. " "Do not excessively focus on the next moment." "Zen is doing one thing at a time." Thanks.

Because of your wisdom, I feel fortunate sometimes to “catch myself feeling harried” in the “doing”. In those times, I realize I feel a need to hurry through the current task to get to the next one, so I can then go on to the next. Then, it hits me: why are you feeling anxiety in the doing ? Slow down…savor the doing. It’s not that I actually do the thing more slowly. No, I actually do the task at the same speed as before. It’s my mind that has slowed. It’s my focus that has changed. I go from hurrying through the small things of daily activity, only to realize that that is essentially what life is….a bunch of small things happening one after the other in succession. That is life……It’s the small considerations that add up during the day…….And if you/I approach them with anxiety in order to get to the next small thing in the big picture, I will have passed my life by with anxiety and thoughtlessness. Thank you, Mr. Tolle, for changing the course of my thoughts, slowly.

Focus on the process not the outcome, focus your attention on the present moment not on your goal or your intention. Eckhart Tolle said in his video that 80% of your attention should be focused on the present moment while the other 20% on your intention which serves as your strategy, your aim or where you want to go.

Ironically, I lived a life that centered on the feelings of others. Instead of expressing my feelings frankly, I thought I had to live a happy life that would require suppressing my feelings to avoid making problems. At the same time, I firmly believed that my inner anxiety or nervousness should not be revealed. I tried to think positively or forced a smile on my face, hiding my unease and pretending not to know. Some feelings discomforted me, which I knew I should not be feeling, yet whenever those feelings arose, I would deny myself and suffer. I thought this was the right way, but reality told me the contrary. I became more vulnerable. I started to use the "Intended mindfulness playlist' and got much better. It really works 🙂🙂

As an artist I can relate to this state of hurry slowly. Happens often when the hurry is triggered by the natural rush of slowly getting a visual result. Apparently I am still but mentally all rushes in perfect flow. It's almost a meditative state. I love it! The trick is to forget the schedule during those minutes. It's a spectacular sensation, happy to ear Eckhart talking about something similar.

Such a timely viewing of this for me. I just started working at a lawyer's office and have to do up a number documents that have urgent deadlines (some real, some created by the boss) while simultaneously answering the phones. It's impossible not to be pulled away from mindfully working on a project. As this way of working doesn't really suit me, perhaps it's time for another gig.

Its simple idea but difficult to do but very effective of reducing stress and anxieties. When you go to work and you say the first thing you do is you read email. Then give your Fullest attention on reading email. Your mind might create resistance like “ so many emails again, when this will end” come back to the present moment and focus on reading email again. If you have come across an email from Irate customer with unreasonable demands, notice your mind will get defensive/annoyed/angry/ frustrate. Notice it and let go. Focus on what to do next. How should i reply to this customer to get them in their place? This helps to not feel burn out after work. ❤️❤️

The answer to the question in this video is "yes" I guess. When I think of Shaolin or Sushi masters or zen masters, pro athletes and so on. They all started slowly doing one thing at a time become more and more precise about what they were doing slowly. And then they added speed over time. They all have amazing mental focus. That's what we all can achieve. Calm mind, focussed and then we can carry that in our days and different situations and actions as well. Just like Eckhart said getting in touch with the conscious action and enjoying that 😍

Experiment for balance of 2022: Going to work with presence. Not be concerned of deadlines. Not to be rushed or hurried by colleagues, managers or customers. By the end 2022 I’m either the top salesperson at my company or at the bottom. Someone hit me up in December 2022 to ask how it’s going.

What's the hurry for ? Give it a chance to mature. In presence life is enjoyable and little ordinary moments become precious experiences.

I heard him talking about a television show that's quite good but doesn't get good ratings and is canceled when it could've been given time to mature, and I immediately think, "NBC's Dracula. If they had advertised that one a bit more and then given it a second season, it probably would have done well. Instead, they barely advertised it and it was canceled after one season."

Date prisa lentamente, is very good translation to spanish. There is a saying proverb in spanish that says " Vista me despacito, que tengo prisa.". Dress me slowly, I am in hurry!

Can You be Present and Work Efficiently? Yes! In fact, the presence helps with this! You know what doesn't help you work efficiently, taking life way too seriously otherwise!
