Can Women Really Have It All -- Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts & Pastor Cora Jakes

That’s the question we often ask ourselves, but this month we’re challenging ourselves to define what “having it all” really means.
During Part I of our fall vlog series, we sit down for a candid conversation with Pastors Cora Jakes Coleman and Sarah Jakes Roberts to unpack our desire to have it all and get their life-lived insights on how to be content in every stage of our lives.
What does having it all look like for you in this season? Pastor Sarah eloquently explains:
“‘All’ changes as the stages of your life change, your needs develop, and your gifts and talents emerge. Having it all shifts and changes, and I think that if we are not careful, we will be guilty of wanting someone else’s ‘all’ because we didn’t take time to consider what our ‘all’ is."

I really enjoy watching them. They’re being sisters, having a conversation as sisters and it’s great to see. My sister and I are like this and it’s wonderful. I don’t call her much because I work 2 jobs and get home after 8 pm. And because when we get on the phone it’s at least 6 hours which would put my bed time past midnight. She’s my best friend (actually my only real friend). I think I’m going to call her tonight!!

As I’m watching the 2 of you talk to each other, I’m reminded of the book that your dad wrote “Daddy loves His Girls.” Images of how he described the 2 of you as children (each of your personalities, funny stories, etc.) come to mind. And then seeing the 2 of you interact w each other now as adults, married with children, loving the Lord and ministering to us women- it’s just so beautiful! It’s like a full circle moment that I get the privilege of witnessing despite never actually meeting your family! Thank you both for sharing your lives with us!!🌟♥️

Go sister go sister, soul sister soul, the inner beauty that you send out is connected and contagious, be your true self you know your true worth.💚💛💝🙏

This was a great conversation. I agree with Cora. You don’t know the internal warfare people go through for the anointing that you see. But I hear you Sara we need to learn acceptance with who we are called to be in Him, that’s the only way to to authenticity and finding our unique greatness in the Kingdom. Contentment is the fruit of faith and acceptance, the reward of working your lane, diligently as unto the Lord and no longer trying to swerve into someone else’s lane. 💡🕊📖

Also I use to dislike when people told me it wasn’t my time, and then I had to realize i have to enjoy the time in. Your right Sarah cuz I wish my son was still here in the flesh .He passed at age 6 . He would be 17 this year. The right perspective is everything and Cora, your right everyone won't post what they don't want us to see. Who wants to take pics while their depressed etc I am learning not to compare too. You both have great points . It made me think would someone want a kid so bad that they are willing to have one knowing they may only live 6 years or less like my did. I am thankful for the 6 years I had with him. Although that last year was so hard but it wasn't all bad Especially as a single divorced mom. There were so many blessings in it all. My son was such a blessing

I so relate to what you have said about your child…. My son died at 13yrs old & I knew he was terminal for 8 yrs. one thing my son told me that I carry in my heart is….mom..you don’t want heaven to be all old people. He was sooo correct. I Love children & look forward to working in the nursery in heaven. Other mothers & myself were surprised how accepting our kids were about heaven & dying. Children readily believe in God & Jesus. It’s a beautiful part of life I would have never experienced otherwise. I fully believe in heaven as one result of what I went through as well as a very deep trust in Jesus.

I really understand coras point about comparison. No one’s life is all perfect and the things that I can’t see is what they have been graced to conquer. it doesn’t mean l don’t appreciate their life I may even pray for similar things that God allowed me to see. But I didn’t have their upbringing. I didn’t grow in their neighbourhood so it’s unfair to myself to compare myself with anyone.
