This is impossible because Windows 11 is available only in 64bit version and you can not upgrade 32bit versions of Windows to 64bit ones. Windows 1.0 to Windows 10 X86 is hard, but possible by changing hardware partially. Also Windows XP X64 to Windows 11. But your combination no.

Some advice: BIOS tends to emulate a _PS/2_ (Personal System/2 - the circular purple mouse port, which originated on said IBM computer model, in other words) mouse in the absence of OS access to USB. Also, Premiere Edition is _not_ the first release build of Windows 1.0 - that was a very common misconception until somewhat recently. Premiere Edition is a prototype which was hastily "finished" to be shown off to the press, but is actually very buggy and incomplete. Finally, Windows 1.0's DOS version check only passes on DOS 2.0, 3.0, and 3.10, and it runs checks on certain data structures just to make sure you're not jush spoofing the officially-reported version number. The internal betas would print detailed info about which test failed, if one did, on the startup screen. The garbled text you saw is what's left of that poorly-removed error message in Premiere Edition and the retail releases.

The reason why Windows 1.0 wouldn't start up properly was because you were using the Premiere edition, which uses a different file type, WIN100.MID, whereas the file that MS-DOS knows of is WIN100.BIN, not WIN100.MID. Try installing version 1.01, not the premiere edition, or if you STILL just NEED to use the Premiere edition, use "SETVER C:\DOS WIN100.MID 3.00," then reboot, go into the windows directory, and then start windows up as per usual. You might also want to put a PS/2 mouse driver into the installation disks, assuming they don't have that driver already. Be careful what you say on the internet, okay?

For windows 1.0 you need use MS DOS 5.0 and partition with fdisk and format the drive. The with MS-DOS 5.0 installed, have Setver.exe load up in config.sys. That should work.

ive been hoarding 1155 boards so i can have legacy options of operating systems , thanks for showing a great example of what it can do with legacy options seems to be a great sweet spot as 8.1 also runs real good on a sandy ivy bridge system

@@plashplash-fg6hd yeah i have 8.1 enterprise currently on a ryzen 7 3700x and a ryzen 5 1400 system both run it flawless just has that silly unsupported warning intially after the install is finished , turned a few things off and it has not returned lol

@@Matt08719801 I have 8.1 Industry Pro, 8.1 Enterprise, Industry Enterprise, and Indistry Pro are 3 different editions, but nevertheless, they all work very well on both modern and older hardware. 8.1 is good.

~ 4:55 for BOTH 6.22 and freedos you may need to call setver to make windows think you are using an earlier DOS. I don't know if DOS 2.X is installable on that new of a PC. Also, you might possibly need MOSLO or a patch if it uses old for loop CPU speed detection methods.

So, if 2.0 does run on MS-DOS 7.1, this means... You could install windows 2.0 on windows 9x and both could work

the flicking screen isn't a problem i also had it on ubuntu 22.03 and on windows 10 but it fixed itself after a few reboots

Hey, if you’re making a video on installing Windows 7 on your PC, install it on your NVMe or a partition on it and integrate USB 3.0 drivers. I challenge you not to use a PS/2 mouse or keyboard for this and use your mouse and keyboard.

Now let's see if retro windows would work on modern windows.

I've run a third-party calculator app made for 3.x on a 32-bit Windows 10 install! It even still enumerated the attached printers, which in my case was just the XPS Document Writer, which "printed" the equation history without any issue!

I too can’t wait. I have the same CPU and ram and almost the same motherboard as him, and I’ve been trying for 2 months, no luck. But he somehow managed to get WinXP, 95, 3.1, DOS, and several more on his PC that’s very similar to mine.

Freedos has a way to spoof the version using callver (not sure). I got it working on hardware from 2013, might as well work on recent hardware

Thanx for the video. I have also tried a few times to install win98 on a XP laptop, but could not sucseed.

Please do a video on how to run Windows 7 in full screen mode on top of Windows 11 using like virtulization or soemthing. SO it's like you are running Windows 7 totally, but you have Windows 11 underneath to have all the latest drivers... and that's about it. Because you don't care about anything at all in Windows 11, period. You just want WIndows 7 in 2023 and forever after going forward. Nobody wants Windows 11 or Windows 10.

Like I said for Windows 3.1, if DOS can run, these versions of Windows will run.

Windows 1.0 - 3.1 will indeed run. But Windows 9x just won’t run… they need 1GB or less.

it only cause issues cause modern pcs dont have a floppy drive and you have to buy a floppy drive in order for the installation work
