@@shamrockgaming9505 Eh, depends on comp; she hard-counters so many supports and even a few ADCs and Junglers with her E (black shield) alone; got a Pyke trying to snipe your ADC and stunlock them to death with their ADC? Well, now his hook doesn't work, his E was wasted on air and suddenly he's mispositioned with half his abilities down. Blitzcrank issues? Black shield and decent reaction speed sorts em. Thresh issues? Well, Black shield doesn't stop him from leaping at the target but it does stop the hook and his entire CC combo. Leona and Naut might as well AFK while black shield's up. Evelyn visits your lane? Nice joke, shame she can't charm you so her entire combo's fucked. Etc etc.

@@Neion8 Meanwhile morgana on Mid hard counters Leblanc, she also counter lots of other mid laners that aren't that much popular anymore but sometimes happens to appear, lvl up her W first makes some mid laners farming hell because they have a really hard time farming under tower early so they either ends up wasting tons of farm or wasting lots of mana to keep up the farming race, what made her goint out of mid his both AD mid laners meta and how got of a supp she is.

Like most other poke supports her job is to tell the enemy adc and support to fuck off. Just standing near the minions or in a bush is enoughto zone if you havent used your q recently. Her e allows her to just stop other sups from existing. In aggro lanes shes good cause she can set up a kill with a q. if its a passive afc she can tell the enemy to stop existing near her precious adc

Played a silly game where the whole team was bruiser or tank. We stopped everyone except kayle who played smart. Then at level 16 she shredded all of us without any threat while everyone else on her team struggled to register on the damage charts

Nah, the real big problem with Kayle is the 'fighter' part of 'fighter support' should be ADC/Marksman since 'Marksman support' (like Senna) fits her kit perfectly after level 6 - the main issue being that she's unplayable bot lane until level 6 and she's too reliant on levels to afford sharing XP, while she's too dependant on other people to be a solo laner since she sacrifices much of her potency for the ability to share - e.g. her Q is a shred rather than a personal penetration ability like Darius, Morde and Pantheon have, her W heals two people and her ult can be used on others as well; which means across the board she gets hit with having lesser potency for the benefit of sharing - which she can't do atm since she's only ever played as a solo laner and so she gets railed by everyone with more selfish abilities. If she started off with the 525 range (like her standard level 6) and got an additional 25 range at level 6 and level 11 with an additional 50 at level 16 (so it still feels like a big upgrade) and if they slightly tone down the impact of xp sharing (which is fucking up botlane alltogether atm regardless of comp) and/or increased the base value of her heal then she could become viable again as something other than a troll-pick forced into top/midlane by people who want to play Kayle but can't since she doesn't work. Either way, balance her for botlane and she'd work.

Tbh I could see her coming at the support-marksman from the opposite direction as Senna; Senna is a support who happens to scale infinitely into massive damage if you let her, Kayle is an ADC who happens to have some abilities that can help her support in lane (like healing her Leona/Naut from small amounts of poke damage) rather than it all being a 1-way transaction of aid. It would actually give her some kindof role definition whereas right now she's not really anything except broken.

As someone who's been maining Kayle ever since I started playing about 3 years ago it's really great to see content creators I look up to and enjoy watching givin her some recognition. Definitely my Favorite champion both Theme and Gameplay wise. Thanks for giving her the love she deserves skooch

I'm not a Kayle main, but I disagree with a lot of his points. I love Kayles on my team (if they know how to play her).

As a kayle otp, i can safely say i pick her cause i dont trust any of my teammates, and i want a champ that can kite and 1v9 while using my teammates as barricade Also fun fact : dont know if its a bug or propositely designed, but no matter kayle's level, she is always considered a melee champion, which means she can dish full damage from divine sunderer and botrk

@@Significantharrassment It's actually pretty ok to build Divine Sunderer if there are tanks or champs with high hp because the spellblade synergizes well with her E's spellblade. And the mythic passive gives her 5% bonus armor and magic penetration. So I think you could just go ahead and go full AP afterwards. Then again, Divine Sunderer on Kayle is pretty situational.. But Kayle is a hybrid champion that can benefit from literally almost any item..

I'll just limit myself to making sure that we have enough hot ladies in our team. I'll just pick Bard. Also, 2:47 OUCH

In my opinion Kayle’s best role is mid. It’s much easier to get CS as you aren’t punished as hard by freezes and wave management, you have good kill pressure at level 6 against most midlanders, and post six Kayle is actually really good at rotating to help junglers because of her supporting abilities. Also you will tend to have a better team comp as Kayle fits more into a mage carry archetype than any of the bruiser or tank archetypes that toplaners are expected to play

Playing Kayle is rage inducing especially when you get a good early game with her and the enemy team surrenders.

I had a friend that was increadible at support, and he decide kayle support would be the best place for her And it was AMAZING we duoed samira kayle, when both of them were at thier worst abd had a 90ish% winrate

The way the kit was laid out in this video honestly gave me a supportish vibe tbh. She has a heal and her ult grants invulnerability for her our a teammate. I feel like when the champion was made, riot was arguing whether she should be top or a support

Back in S2 she was a support. Protect the hypercarry comps were meta. Nothing more satisfying than popping R on a kogmaw that planted and just aced a team with AA's while taking 0 dmg. Same for vayne, or yi, or any other AS based champion. She was never intended to be a carry im not sure why they reworked her like this. Problably because they would have to make her #'s so rediculous to work vs the amount of harass available in the current meta that her solo laning would be too much. Even if her power budget was ballanced better between her E and W.

@@strilteras2321 In S2 Kayle would 2hit you with QE going full AP lol Like most mages. Sure she was also good for ad hyper carries with her ult, but was also a good solo later, that could ult adc in fights.

My biggest issue with Kayle is justification. Riot literally said she was in a bad spot because she was near worthless in the early game and op endgame. Then they rework her to forcefully be even more of that. You literally can just itemize old Kayle to lvl 1 hyper carry, in theory. It is impossible to be anything more than a adc pre 11, and adcs are in a terrible spot. Her ult has got to be one of the worst reworks. She is 100% auto base regardless of what you build and her ult not only stops her autos but doesn't scale off them. If you stop autoing for 2s at a 2.0 auto does the ult make up the difference in lost damage? No! Why? Because it's easy to avoid the damage even if they increased the damage to scale with attack speed and it doesn't apply on hits.

@@mr.joesterr5359 Again I think your forgetting 2 things: 1) Never talked about difficulty. Talked about identity. Riot hated her original identity, hence the rework...then they go ham with the original identity and make it worse. Because remember her issue was never the endgame, it was the early game. And they literally made it impossible to be anything more than a melee minion. Your base stats and literally being gated from doing your skills (such as the AOE from her E, or being ranged at all, or the AOE from max stacks). Even if you are god tier skilled with her, it's impossible to unlock her potential due to how EXP is handled in game. 2) Remember her original kit. Her passive just worked, didn't need to land the short range, slow moving, Q. Her old Q was a point and click, you couldn't possibly miss. This makes it less of the skill issue you are talking about. He W is unchanged, and her E is still a empowered auto. The difference is: she only needed about 25% cdr to have perm uptime and you are ranged AND AOE (100% spread) at lvl 1. Lastly her ult never took her out of the fight. I've beaten what's considered OP now, Tryn with her old ult. Why? Cuz even if tryn is immortal he still get's shredded w/ her passive AND her ult I used at max hp so tryn did no dmg when both our ults were on. So tryn was at 1 hp and I was full hp when both timed out, and he had no way to heal because my passive shredded him to one shot range. Outside of visuals what does this new Kayle do better? She no longer gets true dmg. Her only benefit is just raw scaling, just number tweeks. But technical skill is much higher and her overall kit is nerfed with her ult and Q relying on more skill.

@@peternash7104 Maybe she has problems now, but I personally find a better champ identity in the current Kayle than I did pre-rework, even though she has some pretty big flaws; I still find that scaling identity sits forward regardless, I feel like power is being spoonfed for me making good plays and surviving.

The problem with kayle is that pre rework, she was designed as a mage who happened to be able to hype carry. And then when she was reworked Riot latched on to the hyper carry aspect and based her whole value on her ability to hyper carry but had to keep her old "mage focused" skills somehow. I genuinely think she'd be a lot better if they had just changed her q from being point and click (which was bullshit, don't get me wrong) to what it is now with similar numbers and still force her to derive a lot of her hyper carry value from items instead of giving her a voucher saying "it's okay to build whatever you want, it won't matter before level 16"

It is so good to see Can We Talk About This make its grand return, I am so excited to see it back

Best part of being a Kayle main is hearing your teammates on Discord scream "IM GONNA DIE HERE" and then just going "no" and using your ult to disable the enemy team before nuking them with a single E.

That feel when you're playing Kayle and you're fighting Irelia and she's tearing your asshole apart and her jungle ganks twice and releases the Rift Herald on your turret. I've never been so close to rage quitting a game in many months. We won it tho.

They really just needs to make Kayle start as a ranged champ and make her autos tickle. At least this way she can farm early and provide some damage pre 6. As for the ult she should just be able to ult another teammate without the penalty. She should only be stuck in the animation if she ults herself. As of right now in the late game you want to ult yourself 99% of the time but with this you’d have the option to ult someone else without making yourself useless. They could even add a delay when you ult someone else that way everyone has time to react kind of like Tariq ult but with a much smaller delay. There’s nothing worse than when you ult your adc that got caught who then flashes backwards because they didn’t realize you ulted and then to compensate for the early mistake of flashing back they gale force forward only to die immediately because the ult wears off

I really think that Riot represents her “Justice” really wrong. I get that she is a supposed counter-character to Morgana, but for Kayle being “Justice” itself is truly the equivalent of ending bullies, after being bullied. Justice is when you see somebody being attacked and you’d be getting yourself in a nice fight to save a life, go with the victim to the police, describe the attacker and after being judged by the court, send him to prison. But Kayle looks like a cover up for Ghost Rider’s spirit of Vengeance, rather than the Divine Justice. I’m not saying she is useless, but what i am trying to say is that she needs a big change in her abilities so you can feel yourself as the embodiment of “Divine Justice”. Like a second passive that allows you to hit like a hot pan in the face when an ally dies, stacking up to 4 times, each time getting more and more powerful based on your Auto’s damage; A skill shot that is like Kalista’s E, but causes you to BLEED; An AoE zone that boosts ally’s AS by a certain %; And a ult that combines the E, with Ziggs’s bombs…Meaning doing this sword rain and if they hit an enemy champ you can recast it and do bonus True Damage based on targets’s missing health. If she was supposed to be a Hyper-carry, then i cannot think of a better total ability rework on this gorgeous angel. I’m not a Kayle main (obviously) but if every champ had to be broken, i could be the man to give such ideas

Actually, her getting justice wrong was intended. Morgana and Kayle are both the aspect of Justice, but split in half. Kayle is punishment and judgement, while Morgana is Mercy and Understanding. Morgana will forgive murderers and then let them murder again and Kayle will execute j-walkers. I don't like it either, especially as an old kayle main, but it makes sense at least.

All else is rationalization." @@oh7mak Except Kayle and Morgana aren't aspects. It's been confirmed. They didn't climb Mt. Targon hence they aren't considered aspects. What power they have came from their mother, who was the Aspect of Justice.

love this champ, kayle basically taught me how to play league when I first started playing. And as a new player it felt good that I would be usefull eventually even if I did not win lane. Also love her mix of support and fighter and all the utility in her kit. I always viewed it as kayle basically being her own support that peels for herself.

You'd be amazed how often I get tower dived early as a Kayle. I just E/Q them and let the tower finish them off. But if they're smart enough not to dive, I'm in for a bad time for most of the game.

She is, in fact, one of the strongest Champions at lvl1, thanks to her pretty good passive coupled with additional damage from E. Lethal Tempo further solidifies it. She, however, falls off as soon as lvl 2-3 when other Champions get more abilities and stats, and all she gets is her Q and W, and doesn't come back until lvl 11.

@@antongrigoryev6381 Correct. I think Sett was like one of, if not *the* only melee top laner who could beat Kayle at level 1 with that iteration of LT. And then as you said, once level 2 (or 3 in some matchups) Kayle becomes irrelevant.

Yeah level 1 kayle is really powerful, but as your opponent levels up your basically stay the same, until level six. SO at level 5 you are at your weakest, which is where most kayles get ganked and thats where people think that shes squishy enough to dive at level 1, which is false. Most likely by the time you get level 6 youre already behind and kinda have to play the safe game until level 11.

Theoretically: you could get a Kayle player to uninstall by bullying her all game, waiting till she hits 16 and then surrendering immediately. All the suffering with none of the satisfaction.

As a (former) Kayle main goddamn that ending hurt lmao. I really think Kayle's passive should work like Viktor where it scales off the number of minions she killed instead of total levels. It would make her actually playable in bot lane where (ima be real with you chief) she _clearly_ wants to be. Maybe instead of 100 minions per ascension it goes 50/100/150/200? IDK 500 CS is a lot when Viktor only needs 300 but I think Kayle shouldn't be a melee minion for the first 7 minutes of the game. Tbh just make her ranged at level 1 and she'd probably at least be tolerable.

@@shamrockgaming9505 The whole point is to move Kayle away from going top - right now, she's played there by people who want to play Kayle but can't play her bot because she gets spanked by almost every marksman in existence from the moment she reaches lane, so much like Lucian, Akshan and (to an extent) Vayne, she got exiled to top/midlane since at least there, the small amount of range she has can be an advantage. Caitlyn top can also be a (very powerful/annoying) thing, but because it's an idea that shits on team comp people usually play her bot. Give Kayle mains the same option and they'll make the same choice. Especially since unlike Lucian, Akshan and Vayne, she doesn't even have the mobility to really make solo-laning as a squishy work.

the problem, is that Kayle isnt just a Hypercarry. While its been too weak to be worth doing for a long time now, Kayle is also a SUPPORT. thats why her Q damage is low but SHREDS, why she has a HEAL, and why her Ult is best used on someone else who CAN attack during its duration (like another hypercarry marksman)

In my experience in SoloQ most of the time it´s a waste to use Ult on someone else unless it´s premade/Duo, because most of the time they will int it down regardless.

How to fix Kayle: -Make her Q stun on hit, swap the damage vulnerabilities to her W -Remove the healing and speed bonus on her W, which can now be casted on herself, allies, or enemies, when cast on herself/allies, they gain damage resistances, when cast on enemies, they gain vulnerabilites -Give her R the speed bonus that her W had, making it a more viable escape or engage option

This kind of just makes her more of a support rather than a hypercarry. I suggest that they buff early numbers but keep the same late game and either give movement speed on ult or perhaps if you cast it on someone else, you can still auto attack. Also, perhaps give her range immediately and instead of range at level 6, give her the attack speed stacks.

Wow I surely love more point and click cripples, what a fantastic idea! Jokes aside, I think they should just make her ranged by default, only adding more stuff such as exaltations per key level up (6-11-16) Allow her to auto during ult BUT remove the damage of the ult itself. OR make it so if Kayle casts it on herself, she heals, allowing more leeway on turning around fights, BUT only give it scaling via exaltation. Meaning it you can't just build full AP, cast ult, and then heal 900 a pop bcz u happened to have Rabaddon.

@@weebtrash1400 That's not really a contrast to be honest. Also, that's another point, why would I play Kayle if i can just play Morgana support. I mean since her conception, she'd never really been a support. There's also more contrast now than ever. Her sister synergizes with most people due to her incredible CC while Kayle's gameplay is very selfish like the video suggests which lines up with her personality.

@@zer0stars Kayle's gameplay is very selfish in the most roundabout way humanly possible - she's selfish because she's selfless in sacraficing personal ability for the ability to support her teammates; her Q shreds resistances - if it simply gave her more pen (like Darius, Morde, Pantheon etc) it could have higher values and not be an issue, but she sacrifices personal performance to help her team, her W heals 2 people (for the same price as one) meaning it can't be as effective as a single personal heal without being OP and therefore becomes poor for personal use, her ult can be cast on allies - which makes it harder to use on yourself like a free stopwatch in those clutch moments, which leads people into misusing it for damage instead. Because of all this, she can't solo-lane no matter how hard people try to force a round peg into a square hole, and so often the team suffers from all the kills her failed attemps give to the enemy. 3/5 of her kit is already designed to be a support, while her E and post-6 gameplay is more of an ADC/Marksman. Does support-marksman sound familiar (Senna)? Because it works (and would be way easier to balance without infinite scaling) but only in botlane where you can make use of both parts of the kit, the issue is she's constantly being balanced around top or midlane like a flying fish being judged on it's aerial acrobatics rather than swimming because it can fly - but *it's a fucking fish.* Problem is, her current playstyle is based around the limitations of her passive, which are limited by XP which is limited in botlane, which limits her from being played in the correct postition for her kit. Despite my friggin essay, y'all are the ones overthinking this; just make her level 1 ranged (with level 6 and level giving +25 range and level 16 +50, but tone down the damage) and make it stack off literally anything except XP.

I think it's because usually Kayle top is free kills to the enemy top/Jungle/mid pre-11, and thinking you're doing well only to for the enemy to come and show you all the shiny items they bought with Kayle's charitable donations to their bank account can/does annoy a lot of people. It's kindof ironic that the hypercarry with the *least* selfish kit in the entire game (her Q strips resistances, benefiting your entire team, her w heals and speeds up an ally and her ult can super-stopwatch any of your allies) has ended up being one of the most selfish picks in the game for the simple fact that her generosity makes her too weak to fight alone pre-16. I've said it on other comments and I'll say it again, she needs to be reworked back into botlane, cos her entire kit save her passive screams duo-laner.

Me: *starts playing league* "Kayle is cool I can really snowball!" Me two weeks later: *scarred from the enemy jungle setting up camp next to TOP lane*

Her r is mainly for allowing her jungler to actually gank her. (She can tank and then r herself so that she doesn’t die and her jungler can kill the enemy)

This video is exactly how I feel about these types of characters. They’re a liability and hold your team hostage unless you play their way. Same thing for butcher in HOTS and I can’t think of the equivalent in smite rn because I’m so full of rage

Issue is that it's like Sona W. And similar to Lucian it's kinda like Riot saying don't solo lane her. Now if there is no ally near increase it, it make it damage enemies too or w/e. That would make sense. Nearly everything about her is contradictory and that's what makes her explode endgame because she just does everything endgame but melee minions early game

Kayle is literally the same problem as old Sion: two halves of two kits that don't match at all, but are both super strong as what they do. Her Q and her E are an auto-attacking, on hit champion, her W and her R are an enchanter support. The biggest problem is that because of how her kit works together and her stats and her items work, she's too strong if she has good base stats. So she has to be trash tier or else she'd be broken. They need to give her the Sion treatment: rip out either the hyper-carry and make her a healer/enchanter, or rip out the supportive abilities and make her a carry. But Riot are just ASKING for her to stay a shit design forever by trying to keep a literal invulnerability on a hyper-carry. That is just inherently stupid, and 200 years should be enough to know better.

A complete rework is too extreme. We don't need to completely strip the identity of another champion and replace it with something else, again, that is how the game loses fans and its how we got Ryze. Kayle's old kit seemed fine, a AP/AD hybrid carry with some light support skills held back by low Mana. Her main problem as skooch mentioned is that she's useless until level 6. Her kit is way too skewed towards the lategame.

Not gonna lie, I disagree with the ult point. Zhonyas is considered a must on many AP carries, and it disables all their damage for even longer. Kayle ult is a zhonyas on crack (since you can auto-attack for about half of it), which makes it solid, and very rewarding to use when you flash in with your 3 secs immortality + zhonyas/GA if things go wrong.
