I don't think anybody looking for a project like this could pass up starting with cover art like that. Kidd Rock was where my brain went too, Rob, the only thing both songs are missing that would really sell it is Hispanic accent in the vocals, and more Spanish phases in the lyrics

they doing great, they dont doing the same type of episode everytime like those type of shows or series, and thats clever
This makes me think of an absolutely crazy concept that would be crazy hard to set up but could be extremely fun : one band writes a song, then an artist designs a cover art for the song, then another band writes another song just by looking at the cover, then another artist designs a cover for that song, then another band writes another song based only on that art, and so on... I would love to see how far this could go

Dude, it's musical telephone! It's that game where someone would whisper something and that phrase would be passed along and we'd see how the phrase changes, but instead of a phrase it's a mix of album art and music. That's such a fun idea.
@Shmicah1235
Жыл бұрын
Wouldn't actually be too crazy considering RubberRoss and co. do art challenges a lot, and Andrew used to do a series where multiple producers make a track base don the same prompt. It would take a while to execute, but I don't think it's too insane to organize
@Slyness64209

@@Shmicah1235 I never heard of the first dude you cited, but yeah I also thought of the 4 producers 1 sample series when writing this, I'm sure Andrew and Rob are totally capable of organizing something like this, what I'm mostly saying is that it would be a huge project that would require a LOT of work and I don't think they'd do all that just for one random comment haha

There used to be something called the Hop in Amsterdam where a producer made a couple of beats on stage, the audience picked one and then the rapper(s) would write lyrics to that beat and recorded it on stage in a vocal booth while a painter made the cover. A little different concept but very cool. I went to see EPMD and Keith Murray. The track would be released on 12" vinyl in a limited edition.
Love the entire studio vibing while producing. So cool!

As a cyberpunk nerd who’s also obsessed with the Wild West and nature stuff. You’ve kinda just created my dream genre. Slide guitar country with heavy electronic stuff is absolutely my vibe
Only thing missing from this video would be a segment with Andrew and Rob chatting with Larry Gates after they each heard each other's tracks. I love how well this all came together, and all the love and respect these artists are showing each other!
Andrew literally never disappoints with the flow.
Both songs unironically rule, holy crap. XD

LET THE MAN COOK
Noooo waayyyyy I can NOT believe ho close you guys actually got, that's legit amazing. The artist must have done a great job visualizing that song, and then you guys a good job at interpreting it. Dammmmnn
That ad was incredible. So smooth, so sensual! Nothing sexier than properly crediting artists!
Thanks for introducing me to Curb Service. His stuff is so good - everyone watching this needs to click on the link and check it out. Kinda reminds me of some Beck - a lot of beats and sounds that sound like they came off an old soul record with good riffs and surprising genre-hopping combinations. I've been away from collaborative music-making a few years, but this whole Sonic Boom series you guys are doing is so much fun to watch. And man you guys do a great job of getting things done without any friction, although I think friction can be good for the end result even if it can be stressful in the moment (and does not help with time limits). Come to think of it - maybe you need a few episodes where you are fighting and yelling at each other. Are those in the pipeline? JK - it's great to see such easygoing fun in making music.
This weeks was good but I only just got the slide whistle song out of my head and now its back.. thanks.. that song is such an earworm
I was not prepared for them to start coming up with deep lore
I was not ready for Andrew's rap skills
I love that the intro is a different high note at the end every single episode
It's so crazy to see two musicians perpetually "yes and"ing each other, without a single "...oh.....yeah...I don't know about that one"
It’s so interesting to watch these guys write and bounce ideas off each other. Like you can see Andrew kinda directing the whole thing, straight away thinking about song structure and all the little details, and then Rob just throwing things out there, seeing what sticks, and just smashing it on whatever instrument he plays. ❤
Today we learned that we sometimes CAN judge a song by its cover. Btw, please do some more of these! This was really fun to watch!!
When talented people explore and support other talented people. More of this.
Only three episodes in and this is already one of my favorite shows on KZread. Ever. Super entertaining, creative and inspiring. I'm not even skipping over the sponsored part ahah. Thank you for what you do! Oh and the final track? Wow!

Sonic Boom is f’ing amazing. This is such a great collab. I’m so happy you guys turned this into a consistent thing. Please never stop!
is this the literal meaning of "cover music"? :D Love both versions and would love to hear more "covers" :)
Someone needs to mashup both versions
You guys are making the most fun music content on KZread hands down. This was hilarious and inspiring
Damn, I’ve been sleeping on this series. Love the two of you together and this “art to music” concept is incredible! Definitely do it again! So excited to binge!
I admire their ability to commit to an idea and go with it while being open to a different idea that goes in the opposite direction
"I'm on Triceratop of this.." might be one of the most genius lines I've ever heard in my life
Yes, more of this. You could also make this into a challenge with multiple people, one album art > mutiple guesses, or make it unto a game of telephone, album art > song > art > song > etc..
This is SO FUN. I love so much to see you guys working together. Your ideas bounce on each other in such a great way. It's so fun to watch. 10/10 synergy. Please, don't stop doing this.
this has no business being so good, wtf
this needs to be a series holy smokes. Absolutely amazing.
this is such an original and creative idea to get inspired - love it
This absolutely rips I love how much it screams "highest energy shitpost" like the battery pack line👀💗💞💖💕
Well. Well. From space to this. I liked space. I love this. This whole new concept is sooooo great.
Both songs are great in their own ways, this is just a great look into how your weird minds work. Even your ad spot was a special kind of twisted.
That is a banger! It's so good!! I think both versions are UNIQUE; the genre we didn't know was possible. Rob and Andrew, I picture your song sung by drunken crowds at end of a kick ass Cinquo De Mayo party. YES do that again!!!
This is a complete banger wtf
More episodes like this, please! Both the original song (and art) and the Sonic Boom song were DOPE DOPE DOP DOPE DOPE! A potential offshoot of this could be a hella cool collaboration with @Drawfee - songs based off of art!
This ruled, both the original song and rework were bonkers.
The vibe of you two speaks to the core of my being! Music production has become so serious over the years, and you guys are bringing back the playful side, and it's bringing me so much joy! Can't wait for the next one!
That original beat is a banger!
I love this show. I hope we get many more episodes!!! Thanks Andrew and thanks Rob!
2:20 "SPLURTS of noise" -- I love this phrase. I shall endeavour to use it in every conversation, henceforth!
Getting more of you two guys throughout the year is a life saver. Something to look forward to and get excited about! Thanks boys
That was so much fun! Need to start sprinkling "I'm on tricera-top of this" into my daily vocabulary xD
This is such a cool concept! I'd watch this faithfully as a series.
Holy sheesh, these songs were honestly straight-fire. Both the original and the Sonic Boom one. Keep up the insane work
I love how everytime rob and Andrew make a song and Andrew is being serious and trying to either make sense or make something beautiful and rob is just in the corner bein rob
This was SO FUN. I'm all in for Sonic Boom, the most entertaining thing I've seen on youtube ever haha. You and Rob are amazing.

That base is giving me serious Silverchair vibes. And the combination of country/rock/funkiness is giving me Primus vibes. This is one of my new favorite shows on KZread. I wish the algo had shown me this earlier! But at the same time it's great to be able to binge it now. :D
I am so happy this series has come into existence! Just what a wild ride. It's also awesome seeing the freedom you guys allow yourselves to just try stuff and see what works. It gives a lot of inspiration
You should try completing a song after listening 9 seconds of it
¡Que pasa, muy divertidas! Were they playing triceratops horns?
Ok I've heard the actual recording. I'll just get that out there. You guys are stupid brilliant and fun. Thanks for this. and the producer says 10 out of 10. That's somthing. Que Pasa

This is an incredible episode and I now have to add both songs to my playlist. I really love these ideas for this show and hope it continues !

This song is stuck in my head! That riff is just CRUNCHY! QUE PASA!!!!!
what a fun video! the concept and end result are both so rad
That was awesome! Loved watching/listening to this ❤️
You lot inspire me so much. Amazing!
If there's ever been a display of raw creativity and musical skill, it's this right here... Love it! Also I'm so happy they had a similar idea as I had from seeing this artwork; I'd probably played slower and thiccer riffs, but this kind of groovier stuff is great too! Such a cool video!
this is awesome, definitely wanna see more of this
This is a fantasic concept for a series. Can't wait to see other challenges like this! Keep up the awesome work, you guys.
Fantastic! Love the song, the original and the general vibe of the whole show. Kepp it up!
This is the best video I've watched in my life. Thank you so much
