Car guys who make a living from buying/selling/talking about/writing about/working on cars, being guided by a lifelong car dealer who has seen every trick in the book, and they don't spot that a notoriously rusty car bought from a Facebook marketplace driveway trader is riddled with rust? MOT tests should have "testers notes" on the end as a new section. IF they've knowledge of certain cars like old Fords being rustboxes they can write it on there in an 'official manner' as a personal advisory to the owner but absolutely nothing to do with the Gov and Gov doesn't even see that section when the MOT is filed. Obvs this could be heavily abused but I'm a nobody with no idea how that sort of idea would work or if it'd even work at all.

Autoglym? Start with Hammerite. A few buckets full of Hammerite. The stuff does work, but not when the car is literally rotten with rust. The odd spot of rust isn't an issue, but it is when the chassis is less stable than rotting tree bark. And these old Ford Kas were notorious for rusting. Maybe there is the odd one out there which hasn't rusted, but overall I'd give this generation of cars a wide, wide berth.

Not only restorative products but a clearn car using the best products creates the right impression in that moment when people first see something. They don't know what it was before you used these products, but what they can see is impressive and gives one to believe the vehicle has been well cared for. Pity I haven't come across any kind of nano coating product from theml. Probably in the pipe.

Hi guys, I bought a KA two years ago for £500 and it has just passed an MOT by the garage I bought it from. Comes next year and the MOT... The same garage I bought it from I gave it to them as it was right where I live and they have done few bits to it throughout the year. They called back with some rear suspensions issues that needed fixing to pass the MOT. Quite relieved it's not that bad, I gave them green light. Hour or so on, they are calling me back, that the whole rear left back side of the care just came off as the were taking the suspensions off - rust... they showed me the amount of rust... believe my guys, You have not seen rust. Your street here has no rust compared to my KA. I could put my luggage through the wheel arch into the boot :P
