Hi - don't worry, we have hospitals, shops, pub etc all fairly nearby. We live at the head of a sea loch - like the Scottish version of Norwegian fjord. Loved Hamish MacBeth on TV, haven't read the books yet though. And many thanks - should our biggest adventure yet! Willie 🙂

I’ve moved to Skye recently, all the way from Wiltshire. I’m a city boy myself and it sure was a big adjustment. Sometimes I question my choices but as soon as I climb the Cullin ridge I reassure myself I’ve made the right one. Welcome home!

It’s Sunday… yay… settle down to watch a nice episode of Skye Life… learn something new, be entertained, enjoy the views, admire the pups, smile throughout… damn…. The outro is starting already… try and guess what Willie is going to do at the end… giggle…. Enjoy extra bonus of the bloopers ( that farm gate…. 😂😂😂) and then realise I have to wait another whole week for the next one…. Scroll frantically through the archives in the hopes there’s one I haven’t seen… and repeat on weekly basis. 😂❤

My father was a scot. When I was 6 years old he would sing 'over the sea to skye' to lull me to sleep. Every morning you'll pinch yourselves to believe you're actually there. No regrets. My husband built a little cottage in our back yard where he and his buddies noodle on their guitars, swizzling beers, and solving the worlds problems. The cottage is affectionately known as Abbey Road. It’s a magical place! Best to you both!❤

I lived in Scotland for 2 years, and you're heading for my favorite area. I was based in Edinburgh, and every time I left the highlands, I would get a sense of melancholy. I think this is my spiritual home. (With the last name of Aird... it very possibly is where some of my ancestors hale from. ^^ ) Good luck on the move, and I hope you're as happy living on Skye as I was every time I visited.

My grandfathers middle name was Aird. He lived his life a little to the south of Glasgow. All my siblings and I have moved from that town now though.

I visited Skye from my home in the US. My family includes MacDonalds. I knew I would love Skye but I didn’t anticipate how deeply it would affect me. “Spiritual home” is a perfect way to put it. I remember thinking that this was where my wild heart was born, it belongs to Skye.

I hope all the bottles make it in one piece. :) Your cosy little cottage is adorable imagine the quiet you will experience. Live your best life guys and enjoy your journey. :)

They did! I think some of them may need to be stored though, as there's nowhere near as much space to display them! Feel very lucky to be here. We sat outside in our warmest coats under a bright star and moonlit sky last night and every star seemed like a wee blessing. This place is very, very special. And thanks. Willie 🙂

Skye is rugged and beautiful. I hope you'll be very happy when you finally get a house. I am incapable of living any place quite so remote. I absolutely need an urban lifestyle. Of course, I grew up in Wyoming, so you could say I did the wide open spaces many years ago. (and moved as soon as I could) I liked your song. I don't know how real estate works in Scotland, but I'm going to assume it's as big a pain in the neck as it is in the U.S. I wouldn't know a safe mushroom from a poisonous one. (The safe ones come from the grocery stores. Lol)

I hope all goes smoothly, you are a great couple, with many distant friends who will surely enjoy following your adventures.

Visited Skye for the first time this summer after many years of planning and loved it. I will definitely return to the island some day. It is so beautiful.

Hey guys. As I said on your Instagram page, Congratulations. My family and I moved in July from Suburban North Carolina to a more rural area. Not as remote as the Isle of Skye, but I am originally a country girl from out West so moving back to my roots! We love it. Moving is a challenge and quite an undertaking. one I never intend to do again. I love this place with my heart and soul. I'm so happy for you two. I will follow all your new stuff. As I've said before, remember to lift with the legs, not the back, and Sarah, the one big thing that you will need to get used to is the quiet. It often is so quiet in the country that it feels loud if you get that! Enjoy your time "off" from Sunday videos! My Jack poodle is sitting next to me watching you. I think he likes Jack Spaniels.
