CAN WE DO THIS EVERY WEEKEND? | SINGAPORE CYCLING VLOG
Спорт
Riding in Singapore a few times a week over the last 2 years when we were trapped means the routes quickly become repeated. A lot of the roads we've been on way too many times. It's the same thing every weekend like listening to the same song on repeat. Also the traffic light density makes it a pain to get any form of meaningful training in. Stopping every 500m is not only a waste of time, but it prevents your body from getting any adaptive response from what base training should be - couple of hours of steady state continuous easy-moderate efforts. Johor is just a passport chop away and there is so much to explore, so many possible route variations. So welcome to this episode where we take a trip to Johor and ride our bikes with minimal traffic light interruptions without a clue of where we actually want to go. We had so much fun that we said we'd do this every week from now on.
Side note, I have finally managed to fix the audio and made it crystal clear now without too much ambient noise. Enjoy!
Check out the route we did: / strava

Traffic light density is definitely real annoying here in SG. I've been thinking about doing solo rides across the border, and now i'm convinced i'll start doing it. Cheers for the video.

Guys, lesser traffic light also means driver there will drive faster and faster, and in Malaysia, pedestrians are not king like in Singapore, so be very careful out there.
very nice bikes there

Hi, thanks for the videos. Giving good ideas and vibes. Just checking since you’ve been in and out of SG pretty regularly recently, how’s the general traffic at immigration MY bound at about 7am? Any preferable times to cross customs through and fro?
@thewinsty
Жыл бұрын
7am should be quite smooth. I think most people do 5am and 10am so if you offset a bit eg 7am and 12pm then it’s quite safe

Out of curiosity do you purchase travel insurance at all for your rides into Malaysia, or do you just wing it on a Prayer?
@thewinsty
Жыл бұрын
We wing it, without prayer 😉 In all seriousness though, I think it’s quite an unfair reputation for Malaysia to be risky - there’s much lower traffic density, a lot of road shoulder to ride on, drivers a lot more skilled at managing unpredictability. My only gripe is IF something does happen, then yeah it gets a lot more troublesome to be transported back home.
you should visit beijing one day. huge variety of routes, big mountains, and super bike friendly.
